Zion Williamson doesn’t have a relationship with the Pelicans’ organization ?

Twitter Translation: Rumour Mavs look to acquire Zion with a package build around Christian Wood. Big Grin

It would be nice if there was a hot name available and the  "smart" teams in Toronto, OKC, New Orleans, maybe Utah or Orlando liked that player at 10.   Although maybe that should mean Dallas should just draft that player.   Maybe you can have a bidding war and still get a player you targeted.

So Orlando, I would be interested in Bitadze as a Marquis Chriss TE pick up...
10 for 11 & 36 is a bit light, but if there is indeed a bidding war, make it happen.

In my perfect scenario, 11 would still get you a deal with BKN at 21/22 and 21 would be enough to get Atlanta to accept a trade down for taking Collins.

THJ+10 for #7?

Translation: Carlisle wants win now players.  This would be the perfect opportunity to acquire Theis + McConnell + #26 +#29 for THJ.
It serves so many roster construction needs:

1. Back-up PG that will not make demands.
2. Back-up PF/C that is good, but foul/injury-prone, so perfect for 18-20 MPG.
3. Free minutes for Jaden Hardy to become the #3 scorer on the team off the bench.

Sounds like they want OG. Could increase the chances of Hendricks falling to 10 as Toronto won't need another PF.

This is after Ausar canceled his Pacers workout.  There was a lot of love for him on their boards.  It seems he was/is their target.

Given TOR's steadfastness in refusing any sort of deal that isn't a heist for them, I don't think the Pacers will be able to get OG for just 7, and I don't see why they'd pay any more for OG.

I actually love that deal mostly because I love TJ McConnell. Incredible locker room dude and pesky defender.

Those 2 extra firsts could be split or packaged in any other deal too to sweeten the pot. Absolutely love the idea.

I think one (or both) of the Thompson twins will fall on draft night. I can see Ausar falling all the way to 10th or 11th and OKC swinging for them. Hard to imagine Utah, Orlando, Mavs, or Wizards wanting him.

Idk...usually when an agent schedules a workout and then cancel's its because they have been promised by a team.   The rumors are Ausar got a promise.

Moreover Houston is looking to move up for a guard and ball handler, which Amen fits right in with that.

There is a lot of posturing going on right now among agents and NBA teams.

Good to hear they didn't go to Atlanta asking about Collins.

Yep, saw this earlier, I posted this trade a couple weeks ago. Had us drafting Lively at 15 and like the other Tweet says, Mavs shore up their big rotation for years. Capela has 2 years on contract, just enough time for Lively to be ready to start and Capela to come off the bench with an appropriate contract.

He must have gotten a commitment from a team(s) several slots higher.

If the Mavs pull off a trade to get Capella and then maybe Leonard Miller or Coulibaly at 15, that would be just about perfect.

I haven’t looked into Capella that much. But he really doesn’t excite me much. Am I the only one?

He’s the Haywood to Lively’s TC.

I'm not thrilled by him, but if the choice is Capela vs what the Mavs rolled out last year, I'm definitely taking Capela. Especially if they can get #15 back. He'll at least solve the rebounding issues and be useful over the course of the regular season. Then we hope he doesn't get run off the court in the playoffs.

I would rather:

To Dallas: Capella, Collins, Theis, McConnell  (Mavs keep 10)

To Atlanta: Bertans, Bullock, #26, #31  (Atl keeps 15)

To Indy: THJ, #46

Kyrie
Green
Luka
Collins
Capela

Hardy

McConnell
Theis

Collins is the ballast that nets Capella.  Hawks get later picks and Indy gets a more valuable player than the bench players they give up.
