Dirk can't shoot them for them.

How is this on coaching, though? The players only had to shoot 50% from the free throw line (which is still bad) and still get the W.

10-24. Team deserved to lose this game.

Fucked the time out timing leaving the Mavs with only 2 seconds left. Fucked the play call which led to yet another 50 foot heave from Luka.

I also felt like he mismanaged a bunch of subs/time out calls throughout the game, but those last 2 mistakes were the most egregious ones.

They make their ft's, they win at least by 10.

Yes, the inbound play calling could be better, but FTs is what cost us this game.

Luka was the only one who managed to score at all down the stretch so he should escape disrespect.

The man carries this entire franchise of scrubs.

No doubt Luka, THJ and DFS choked the game away on the line.  But we just saw an actual NBA coach in an end of game situation paired against Kidd’s complete end of game failures.

The whole end of game strategy is “hope Luka wins the game”

Brutal free throw shooting.  It will continue to cost us games.  It is a shame they fought so hard.  When DFS was fouled, I had no confidence in any of the 5 players in the game.  Not going to win many important games if you can’t make free throws.

Luka was pissed about something when he took that shot.  Maybe Wood was suppose to pin down?  He drifted out.  Not sure if that was it.

The lack of plays and deffensive readiness and substitutions after time outs is why the coaching lost the game more than the bad shooting.  Even if they missed all the free throws, if you played better defence and had plays to run we still would have won.

I also don't know. Jrue was left to hound him after the switch so I think Luka is pissed Wood didn't re-screen? No clue.

Kidd used to throw players under the bus when he was with the Bucks and Nets. If there ever was a time to send a message to the players it is today.

Nah.  He had some sketchy possessions in the clutch.  And 40% from the line is inexcusable, especially when you go to the line 10+ times a game.

Agreed. But he won't because it makes too much sense.

I'd also publicly embarrass his FT coach:

They got this dude from Minnesota. Real smart move from Cuban poaching talent from the *checks notes* the statistically worst franchise of the last 20 years (https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/worst-n...t-20-years)

How many first round picks do you think we can get for him when he forces a trade?

All of them.  And we will quickly be reminded of Cuban and companies drafting acumen.

Tough plane ride to Chicago. Hope this team sticks together and responds to this. There was a lot of good defense and tough offense tonight. Keep that up and get the rest fixed.

Don’t fall apart. Respond!

Curious to what you think the score would've been tonight had Luka not suited up.

Luka is in the MVP convo no doubt.  But his team's lack of success record wise places him third behind Tatum and Giannis unless this team turns it around.
