What I like seeing with Porzingis is that he doesn't check out on defense when his shot isn't falling. 

He still isn't calm enough on offense, but that will /should improve. He is aware of that at least. I hope he finds something that calms him.

Playing with Luka definitely calms THjr and makes him way more unselfish. He plays great team ball again.

The thing is KP isn't taking bad shots. They're just not falling. Either just in and out or he's trying to draw contact and not getting rewarded.


Those shots are going to start falling the longer he plays and the more rhythm he gets. What is amazing to see is the defense he brings is consistently elite and really is a foundation for this team.

He isn't taking shots outside of the flow of the game. The thing is that his execution is rushed. He isn't calm while shooting. He isn't calm at all. 

Its easy to detect. Watch players closely and they will mostly miss when they are rushing the execution.

That is especially the strength of Luka, most of the time he does it well. You can predict him missing when he doesn't.

Im not saying it's easy to do. But that's definitely Kristaps biggest problem.

KP has no patience on the block. Too often he shoots immediately instead of trying to take his guy face-up or back him down. He needs to study Dirk's game.

Yup. Exactly he rushes his shot. No patience at all.It pisses me off. Dirk would slowly dribble and tell everyone to gtfo of his area. Then take the patented step back 1 legged shot. Watching Porzingis makes me miss Dirk even more.

He takes more spot up shots with the starters but his shot selection is still questionable. Transition 3 on 4 vs 2 fastbreak and midrange pull ups. As long as he makes them no one will complain.
He had terrible shooting percentages in 11/14 games and had 3 games with good ones. This is the 4th good game. Not really sure what you classify as a streaky shooter but that´s probably the definition. He is not shooting 4/9 or 5/11 every night. He goes 0/5 and 2/11...follows it up with perfect shooting nights against GS and Cleveland today. 6/7 in both games.

Looking at his career it is the same story. If you want to base your opinion on a two game sample size you are free to do so but he won´t continue too shoot 100%+ TS just because he starts.

Just because he has been a streaky shooter in the past doesn't mean he is streaky right now. It's not the same.

Streaky happens because of bad shot selection, the variance with these shots is just higher.

He plays a completely different game with the starters, this style produces better results.
