Kidd ain´t no Carlisle. That´s for sure. Wink

Bertans finally lit it up. Tonight's performance is what I was hoping he'd been doing on a nightly basis once acquired. He's been a huge bust, IMO.

He's gonna continue to get open looks, and has the potential to be the efficient scoring punch off the bench the Mavs need. Dinwiddie's hero-ball has been squeamish.

Ha ha! Well, I meant done because I thought he was too shell shocked in his first playoff campaign. But maybe Kidd helped him regain that confidence and get over his fear.
Not very astute ^^^^

Going to post some highlights from the game

Also I really do hope the NBA looks at this clearly intentional hit by O'Neal and dolls out an appropriate punishment (1 game suspension to me). Especially considering he was headhunting JB on 3-4 straight possessions before this happened.

That first half from the bench, whew!

Jalen flexing muscle at the thuggery, wow!

Spence dunking in the face of France, oh yeah!

Maxi bending the time/space continuum, for sure!

Davis doing dastardly deeds from deep, you know it!

But Josh Green—be still my heart! The kid showed out. Gotta create a new account so I can vote for him twice.

I voted Brunson. When he went down in the second quarter I thought we were going to lose the game. But he toughed it out and led us to a HUGE win

DFS when he sees the Jazz forget to close out on him for the 8th time in a game.

I can't argue with anyone's pick tonight. And if the award was strictly for who 'stepped up their game' it would have to go to Green who went from deer in the headlights of his first playoffs to significant contributor.

But Jalen is not only leading our offense but epitomizing the mental toughness that is becoming the hallmark of this team. He took a hit that would have been illegal on a football field, and came back to shove it down Utah's throat.

As stated by others...this is a very hard Dirkie to give out.  7 players in double figures.

Maxi got the ball rolling with 4 straight 3 pointers.  This was an upper cut that set Utah back on their heels for awhile.

Then came contributions in turn by Bullock, Bertans, and Green.  A little more seasoning and Green is going to be good.

Dinwiddie has played ok.  Not his best...yet.  I expect that to happen in a future game.  Stay tuned.

DFS played 47 minutes, had 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, and ONE turnover.  Oh...I forgot...14 points.  Not too shabby for a guy I had written off for several years.  Not any more.  He is a fine player.

Well...Brunson is doing everything the SECOND best player on the team ought to do when called upon.  Heck...he does everything he ought to do when playing with Luka.  This provides the Mavs with a quandry.  I'm pretty sure JB's role going forward will be expanded even playing with Luka...but will he be happy as a second banana?...or will he want his own team?  I don't think money is going to be the determining factor.  Many teams will be willing to pay the man.  I think fit and role will play a big part in who JB chooses.

Ah...the Dirkie.  As much as I want to give the Dirkie to Maxi...I can't.  Brunson has elevated his play as the main engine on the team.  So...my Dirkie goes to Jalen Brunson...again.

Every single person performed tonight. I´ll give a shout out to Sean Sweeney, our #2 on the bench. Most figured it would be Igor, but the fact that Kidd picked him as his COVID stand-in, shows the trust Kidd has in him. Igor has clear senority over Sweeney, who started as a video coordinator in the NBA, only in 2014. Tonight I noticed it was him, that gave DFS the instructions, when he butchered a play on defense. I suspect he´ll be the next raid off our bench.

Had to think about it for awhile, but I went with JG. Got the shots to fall, facilitated great, grabbed loose balls, and came up with steals while otherwise being disruptive on defense.

I also had to think about it and for the same reasons, Green got my vote. What a great TEAM win!
