So I guess no JJB or Tyson coaching summer league?  Wasn't there a rumor that might happen if they were interested?

Wasn’t a rumor, Kidd said it in the press conference. Haven’t heard anything on TC whatsoever, there were JJB rumors early, but I haven’t seen a hiring yet.

I think it is imperative that Josh Green plays in the summer league and gets 30 plus minutes each game.   Maybe he doesn't play the first two-three games but he needs to get back.

He got very little minutes in the Olympics and I am guessing they didn't get a ton of practice time while in Japan.   Last year he had no summer league, very little practice time with the full team going all out and very little game time.  The one time the Mavs had an extended time to practice during the season is when Green was shipped to the G-league bubble and then had to be quarantined.

He needs reps and this summer league team will give him a good chance to expand his game.  Instead of being a bit player, he needs reps where he has more responsibility.   It may look ugly at times, but IMO he needs to get back to the states and play in the summer league.

Vegas summer league starts today for some teams.  I say the same thing every year, whenever I watch it makes you realize how good these guys are and how hard it is to make the NBA.   Obviously some of the first round draft picks will make it but the teams are filled with really good players, some really accomplished players, and guys who have the ability to play in the NBA.  It is just a numbers game and most of the non-draft picks will never make it to the NBA.

They come to Vegas and will fight and claw for the littlest opportunity they get a contract.  It will happen to a few, but most will look at the G-league, overseas or give up their dream.  I am sure it is a very stressful couple of weeks for most of the players competing.

My players I am most interested in with the Mavs:
1) Tyrell Terry
2) Nate Hinton
3) EJ Onu
4) Robert Franks
5) Feron Hunt
6) Eugene Omoruyi

Josh Green would be on the list as well, but not sure his plans.

I see the threat title has changed to add "Josh Green to play"

Did I miss something?

They included Josh Green on the roster. It is just a matter of getting him back from Japan now and seeing if they can get him integrated fast enough to play some games.

I watched a little of the Celtics vs Hawks summer league game.   I don't expect Jalen Johnson for the Hawks to help much last year, but he is a big, strong kid.    I grow jealous of watching other teams who seem filled with 6'7 to 6'9 guys who can attack the rim.   We have Luka than a whole bunch of specialists.    Maybe it is nitpicking, but I would really like a few of those youngsters.
