Giannis is one of the few players in the league that no matter what, he's going to get his money.
Kevin Durant tore his achilles, and the Nets still signed him to a 4 year 164 million max contract. Giannis is 6 years younger and just won back to back MVP's.
There is no risk to Giannis waiting.
Good point. Then it makes Dallas even more attractive.

There is no risk to Giannis waiting. Yes, but i guess he might want the supermax. The biggest problem is the NBA nowadays. Players get what they want. He probably knows that even if things go south, he could somehow make it to another team without being stuck forever on the Bucks.
He signs the super max, with a wink wink deal that the Bucks front office trade him if things go south. Bucks front office agree because they would basically agree to everything ...

@"sefant" He can get the "Supermax" next summer, too. Literally no difference. That's the point - there's absolutely no advantage to signing it this off-season.

Except it would mean weakening the team he is going to. If he doesn't sign it right now and goes to Dallas the starting 5 is is Doncic, Richardson, THJ, KP, and Giannis, with DFS and a bunch of rookies and vets coming off the bench. If he gets traded it will be 3 1st rounders and an all star or 2. So take at least 2 starters out.

More stuff on that twitter. Apparantly some greek interview going on right now. Some weird comments from him tbh.
Don't know how to judge those comments he made, assuming its probably translated.

I think he stays. Google translator is rough but that is my impression.

The Mavericks didn’t have Crowder, Butler or Dragic, basically, But in the long run, I think they might be better off as a result of staying young. The surprise of this year’s off-season is that our Mavs elected not to add older, experienced players. This is a nod to long-term planning, in my opinion, and very welcome.
If we presume Dallas doesn't do anything creative and just signs Giannis outright (which is essentially a trade of THJ/JRich/Johnson and a minor contract, here is what we have around our big three...
KP/Maxi
GA/Powell
DFS/Iwundu
Green/Burke/Terry
Luka/Brunson
That feels a little bit too young to me. It is easily fixed if they return JRich by moving additional salary between now and the signing. Another way of retaining JRich and the young core would be to go after a less expensive FA. The same agency that represents GA also represents Anunoby. If you want to get younger and more defensive while also maintaining spacing, how about a big offer to RFA Anunoby while Toronto is hunting bigger fish. It would take an over-pay to scare them off
KP/Maxi
Anunoby/Powell
DFS/Iwundu
JRich/Green/Burke
Luka/Brunson/Terry

That feels a little bit too young to me.
During our first playoff with Giannis:
KP 26 / Maxi 30
Giannis 27 / DP 30
DFS 29/Green 21/ Iwundu 27
Burke 29 / Terry 21
Luka 23 / Brunson 25
I don't see that as too young at all IMO.
Also if we get Giannis we are suddenly title favourites, meaning that the ring hunters will consider you first.
You can get veterans who want to pursue rings, in summer and during buyout market etc. That would provide us with veteran presence needed for going to title.

My understanding is that ge was trolling the LALA connection.
Anyway, he is kind of vague with his comments, at this point I will wait till December 21st
If he doesn't re-sign this year, I would say he is as good as gone as long as he doesn't end up in the finals.

I know he has until 12/21, but doesn't it seem like if he signs this off-season it will be this week, before camp starts?
