Trade & FA 2023-24: PHX Wants Lebron+Bronny| Hawks to Shop Hunter
Hardaway/Maxi/McGee/Lively for Allen/Okoro at the end of the month once Lively is eligible.

I’m not leaving the Allen idea until the door firmly shuts, he’s too perfect of a fit.

Luka/Kyrie/Green/GWill/Allen is a really well balanced 5 and I want to force it into existence.

I'm with you on Allen...  been saying the same thing since I did my statistical defense rating.  He is perfect for us going forward, and especially immediately.  IMO Lively is like 3 years away from starting on a championship team.  Two other names: Zubac and Z.Collins.  With Z.Collins I'd want to keep Lively, playing Z.Collins at the 5, then at the 4 with Lively at the 5.

We have to be a contender NOW, or Luka will exit.

Stop stressing about Jarrett Allen.  It´s THJ (+/- McGee) and the 2027 unprotected. Nothing can go wrong there. Not even Cuban can screw that up.

Worry about the moment Masai Ujiri calls and dangles Siakam´s expiring contract in front of Cuban and asks for 2027, Hardy and Green.

Lindsey needs to be the voice of reason, cause Cuban won´t be able to resist the veteran All-Star. Then Siakam walks in 12 months and Luka right with him.

Ok, I'm about to panic. I've seen this all before.

If that’s what it takes to get Allen, why didn’t we already do it and go a different route in the draft?  I like Allen, but makes no sense to trade for him and burn our draft pick on essentially the same player.

It is pretty crazy.  I don't know if I can find one West team who I think had a bad summer.  I think most of the fanbases would agree.  Maybe Portland, but that is to be expected.  At least they are not starting over from scratch and could have a fun team to watch over the next few years.

If I had to pick one it would be Houston. They will be better than last season but at what cost. Brooks and FVV ending up among the worst contracts in the league wouldn´t suprise me at all.

Good point.  Yeah, If I was a rocket fan I would not be crazy with the big money they spent on free agency or giving away several first round picks with little value returning.  But, I think their draft night was so positive that in the end it wouldn’t bother me too much.

I should have added, even though I really liked our draft and was glad Dallas signed the player they targeted at the trade deadline.  If we are a few weeks deep and we are in a staring contests with restricted free agents and Hardaway and others are still here, I think most would lead towards more negative on Dallas’ offseason.

Yes, those will be terrible contracts it will be known after the first FVV injury. Not worried about Houston

Clippers going all in on Harden. Suns all in. GSW even older. Nuggets with some questionable moves. Grizzlies are still a “?” after spending a few picks and giving max to Bane. Kings did little and are still the Kings. Lakers a year older. Blazers blowing it up

The West is still open sans Denver. After we make a few moves we will be right there in the mix

I’m more worried about OKC and Utah. And eventually Spurs.

Love the optimism.  But while some of that is true, this overall roster isn't as good as some of the teams you mentioned from my vantage point unless they make a deal that improves them drastically.  You can't rely on the success of your season depending on rookies. The Lakers had a good FA period, despite age they'll be in the hunt. The Kings did little and should still be good. Phoenix cleaned up signing good players on 1 yr deals. The players they signed are young aside from Gordon. Not aging vets looking to latch on. They filled their bench pretty well. Memphis has a talented team inspite of the Ja drama. They'll be in the hunt. This might be GS's last hurrah but you can't overlook them until they draw their last breath. Denver lost Brown and Green, but they have young players to slot in. It's not going to be easy. OKC is on the rise, and SA will be better than most think.

Throwing out another random Jarrett Allen trade cause if I couldn't get Ayton, Allen was my 1B.

Maxi+Holmes+2027FRP to CLE for Allen makes a lot of sense on paper to me. Then we go to whatever team and beg them to take THJ+McGee for whatever salary dump trade and we go after either Grant Williams or Thybulle (the latter being my preferred choice).

I also am curious, is it possible for CLE to turn LeVert's deal into SnT? If so why not THJ+Maxi+2027 for LeVert+Allen? Kinda messes with the cap, but we could operate above apron 1 and forego the full MLE and use the TPMLE for Seth's deal instead and this deal should still work.

You guys think Charlotte would be interested in a Hayward+PJ Washington swap for whatever salary the Mavs need to send out? THJ+Holmes+McGee=36 mil.

Haywards 32 mil salary really is a lot, but he is a starting SF...

I really don't understand the rush for Cleveland to move Allen. Sure, their playoff run was really disappointing this year and Allen was not good. But this was their first playoff run as a team. They appeared to be pressing throughout the series and the Knicks took advantage of it and the Cavs lost confidence. Road to success is typically filled with bumps along the way. The year for the Cavs was a huge success and they are at a stage where they are a fringe contender. Maybe with another good year and playoff run, they could be a true contender the following year. They may decide it might be best to move Allen in the future, but I just don't understand why that would be now. I would only consider it if I got a clear upgrade for him.

You can also argue if it is best business for Dallas to use their 27 first round pick plus assets for him as well.

Many people are convinced that their future lies with Mobely playing center. I agree, but not to the extent that I’d be motivated to dump a good player like Allen for peanuts.

His trade is straight up Maxi for Allen. The 27 is the cost to get off of Holmes.

That is an absolute no brainer trade for us and a WTF trade for them.
