Trade & FA 2023-24: PHX Wants Lebron+Bronny| Jazz to Shop Collins

He's still a great defender.  Ya, he looked awful in the GS offense.  I don't think he'll get full MLE; that's why I asked the question.

Zubac is perfect for us.  If Lively develops to overtake Zubac in 24/25, Zubac is in his last year at $11.7m and still only 28.  Nice trade asset.

He's bigger and will be cheaper.  I was asking the question what he'll command.  IMO, a lot less than Brown.

I'm rooting for Harden to go to the Clippers because I think Dallas would be the natural 3rd team to take Zubac. Bullock has the perfect expiring contract to send to Philly.

Does anyone really think Booker wants to play with Luka?

I don’t understand the near unanimous desire amongst Mavs fans to trade for Zubac after watching the man get baptized over and over in the playoffs. No thanks.

I think he’s better when not playing Luka, so I wouldn’t hate it, but to your point it would deprive Luka of 2-4 of his potentially most productive games, lol.

Detroit selling cap space?

https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status...4768460814

Detroit paid a couple of second rounders to take him? Not really making a lot of sense...

Yeah, this is way more logical

KInd of surprised how cheap cap space is.

Yeah I really think we made out like bandits getting the 24th for taking on Holmes.

12:33 p.m. ET: Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving may attempt to gauge the interest of the Philadelphia 76ers, a team that is reportedly shopping to trade James Harden, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported on SportsCenter. "I don't think Kyrie Irving was at the top of the list for the 76ers, but the 76ers should be interesting for Kyrie Irving, if for no other reason than to find a market and find leverage against the Mavericks, who right now might be bidding against themselves. ... It only makes sense if Harden is traded. It would have to be a sign-and-trade situation, which would require the Mavericks' help. Kyrie Irving and Joel Embiid do have a long-standing relationship."

So Detroit is also out of big free agent market, which basically leaves Indy and San Antonio, if I didn't forget someone. Indy supposed to be very interested in Brown. Monitoring Kuzma situation.

Got a better solution?

Zubac has a crazy low contract, with the 2nd year at $11.7m with his only being 28.  Mavs already said Lively is going to get junk minutes.  Hell, he only played 20mins/game in College and had numerous games where he was invisible.  Lively has the precise talent we need, but IMO is 3 years out.  And if I'm wrong and his ready within 2 years, Zubac will be a great trade asset for whatever we need at the 2025 TDL.

The Nets are trading Joe Harris, a 2027 2nd, a 2029 2nd to Detroit. Harris is expiring after this year according to Shams. This kills Detroit going after Cam Johnson. The Nets also create a 20 million dollar trade exemption in the deal. They just helped the Nets more. Head scratcher.

The great thing about that is that the team hierarchy would be set in stone by past events on day one. Good times!
