RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - surfpuckmd - 02-04-2024 Josh Green is a better asset than PJ Washington. He is a much better 3-point shooter and they around the same level defensively. Importantly, Josh is 2 years younger and has greater potential to improve. He's also on a better contract. I hope we don't trade Josh Green for PJ Washington. If the Hornets were interested in Jaden Hardy, then a Grant Williams for PJ Washington trade would make a lot of sense for us. Grant Williams, Jaden Hardy, a 2nd-round pick for, PJ Washington Hopefully the Hornets haven't watched Grant Williams play since December 1st and haven't seen how sad he has been. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - Okstate819 - 02-04-2024 Ok With Green/GWill for PJ/Richards. Then do Holmes and 2 2nds for DFS. Going from Green/GWill to DFS/ PJ at the 3/4 would dramatically help our posistional size, length, and rebounding. Richards a solid backup 5 to add as well. Luka Kyrie DFS PJ Lively THJ Exum DJJ Richards Kleber Hardy Seth Omax Powell RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - SkenfromLMF - 02-04-2024 (02-04-2024, 11:33 PM)DanSchwartzgan Wrote: Like others, I'm not a fan of Green for PJ. At best it is lateral and probably a step backwards. I wonder if fans in Charlotte are saying the same exact thing or are welcoming such a swap. Interesting how Green is the one teams want. Brooklyn, Atlanta and now Charlotte. Second the nod for Smitty's proposal here, I would caveat one thing. In order to make this a little more palatable in losing both Green and Hardy, I would like to add Morris (or Curry) as salary outgoing to Washington while adding Franky Smokes coming back as insurance against Dante Exum and Kyrie not both finding their health and groove. Okay Exum insurance... IF you could make it Curry going to Washington would that leave enough slack for Bitadze for a 2nd from Orlando and stay short of the Apron of Apocalypse? RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - Jym - 02-05-2024 I think my biggest question now is what kind of a haul we could get for Kyrie After missing out on OG and Siakam, none of the guys being mentioned seem like game changers. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - Razzmatazz_Hopskidillydoo - 02-05-2024 (02-05-2024, 01:59 AM)Jym Wrote: I think my biggest question now is what kind of a haul we could get for Kyrie He won't get traded, at least not in this TDL. Now.. if the Mavs replace Kidd (and maybe Nico too), Kyrie might say something against the Mavs that could sour him to the fans or the FO. That's going to push them to trade him. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - SleepingHero - 02-05-2024 Dejounte Murray: “More than one team, apparently including the Nets, are concerned about his personality, that in the words of one source, “he is not about the right things.” RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - RGP1981 - 02-05-2024 (02-05-2024, 03:46 AM)SleepingHero Wrote: Dejounte Murray: So... the classic buy-low situation? It could even turn into a classic AND perfect buy-low situation, i.e., if the Mavericks want to swap Kyrie for Dejounte, since Kyrie has somewhat rehabbed his image. They could end up with a better fitting, more appropriately aged, and more available to play PG... while getting additional assets back. I'd be highly interested in a 3-team trade that sends Kyrie to LAL, Austin Reaves to the Hawks, and Dejounte (+?) to Dallas. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: Mavs connected with Kuz, Wiggs, PJ, Grant, and DFS - Winter - 02-05-2024 (02-04-2024, 10:11 PM)mvossman Wrote: I'm totally on board with making trades to address issues, I just don't want to go into it with the mindset that we have to. That generally results in making bad trades. I'm pretty sure no one will disagree with that including me. For all I know, we could be in complete agreement about what constitutes overpayment. If there's a trade at the deadline, I'll check in with you to compare notes on cost. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - Scott41theMavs - 02-05-2024 4 trading days left. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - Chicagojk - 02-05-2024 Cato has some trade ideas. No reporting, just throwing things out there 1) Kuzma for Grant Williams, Richaun Holmes, Jaden Hardy and 27 first. 2)Gaffrod for HOlmes, 25 second, 28 second 3) Wiggins and 26 first for Grant Williams and Richaun Holmes Not much here. The other trades he list are really out there. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - omahen - 02-05-2024 (02-05-2024, 09:08 AM)Chicagojk Wrote: Cato has some trade ideas. No reporting, just throwing things out there These are trades suggested by fans that he commented. Some other beat writers at least took an effort to involve the other party opinion, Cato only provided his own. Should be noted that he thinks first two are sort of realistic, but he is not enthusiastic from Mavs perspective. He thinks Mavs would still need 3rd best player even after trading for Kuzma and it might be difficult to get him. He is not sure it is worth having such an expensive back-up centre as Gafford behind the future of the team (Lively). For the Wiggins part, he doesn't believe there is any chance GSW would consider it and even if they would, he would still not like it from Mavs perspective. He is not a Wiggins fan. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - surfpuckmd - 02-05-2024 (02-04-2024, 09:17 PM)Smitty Wrote: Mavs: PJW, Richards, Avdija I think this is the best realistic trade proposal I have seen. I would definitely do this even though I really like Josh Green's potential. I believe the Hornets would probably want more value so I think we'd have to either send our two 2nd-rounders to the Hornets or send Hardy to Charlotte and the two 2nd rounders to Washington. We'd have an open spot to sign another guard. I'd like Hamidou Diallo as a defensive specialist. He can't shoot but he was one of the league's best defensive wings last season. I'm not a PJ Washington enthusiast but I think he's better than Grant Williams and I would be interested in seeing him play with Luka and Kyrie. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - StrandedOnBeauboisHill - 02-05-2024 Woj reporting that the wizards are trying to keep Kuzma and that Kuzma wants to be there. Might just be trying to up the price through a mouthpiece but it’s starting to feel like more smoke around PJ Washington than Kuzma now which is a good thing. If this is true, I hope its Grant Williams instead of Green going out. I would probably be willing to do the trade suggested above where we include Hardy and a second. Ya Green for PJ feels somewhat lateral to me unless it gets expanded into something larger as some here have suggested/proposed. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - Scott41theMavs - 02-05-2024 What would satisfy you this trade deadline? I would be satisfied if 1) we traded Kyrie for another star (not happening), 2) we acquired a starting level four without Luka, Lively, or OMax being included, 3) we got a backup center as well, 4) Green wasn't sent out unless he was being sort of replaced (cf. the Avdija ideas), 5) we held onto our '27 unless it's either Grant or the sort of Monty Hall haul suggested by Smitty, 6) no stinking Wiggins, and Kuzma only on the very cheap, or 7) we did nothing because everything "available" was an overpay. Kuz sat out light night. He's a goner. They just want to raise his value. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: CHA wants Josh Green in any PJ trade - Smitty - 02-05-2024 Heading into Thursday’s deadline, rival executives continue to believe a first-round pick and a rotation player is suitable for Finney-Smith – who’s owed $14.9 million next season with a $15.37 million player option for the 2025-26 season – and multiple second-round picks can be had for O’Neale, who’s entering unrestricted free agency this summer. Finney-Smith has drawn significant interest on the trade market, including several playoff-caliber teams such as the Lakers and Mavericks. With Jarred Vanderbilt potentially out for the season, per ESPN, Finney-Smith is a versatile defensive forward who can make up for his loss while spacing the floor. The Mavericks have long held interest in a reunion with Finney-Smith who is a close friend of franchise star Luka Doncic. Other teams to circle the wagon on Finney-Smith include the Bucks, Thunder, Suns and Kings, while O’Neale has drawn interest from the Mavericks, Nuggets, Pacers, Bucks, Timberwolves, Suns and Kings, per the New York Post. One Bulls player who could be dealt, however, is center Andre Drummond who’s drawn trade interest from the Celtics, Mavericks, Lakers and Suns, league sources told HoopsHype. The Rockets also considered making a run at Drummond before acquiring Steven Adams. Drummond remains a dominant rebounder, averaging a career-high 18.9 rebounds per 36 minutes. In seven starts for the Bulls, Drummond has answered the call by averaging 14 points and 17.4 rebounds in 27.7 minutes |
