RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: Shams- Knicks interested in KAT| Siakam trade soon? - rocky164 - 01-03-2024 If a trade is coming, now is the most beneficial time to do it. With a 7 game homestand there will be plenty of practice time to incorporate the new guy whoever he is. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: Shams- Knicks interested in KAT| Siakam trade soon? - mvossman - 01-03-2024 (01-03-2024, 01:24 PM)KillerLeft Wrote: Saw something on Twitter and my instinct was to dismiss it, but I think it's at least worth considering, especially since he really hasn't had a good game yet this season... I think somebody suggested a three way that involved Kyrie going out (I think to LA) and Dejounte Murray coming here. We probably have to pay some additional assets for that, but it is something I would be interested in. An offense oriented power forward makes more sense in that scenario. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: Shams- Knicks interested in KAT| Siakam trade soon? - RGP1981 - 01-03-2024 (01-03-2024, 01:24 PM)KillerLeft Wrote: Saw something on Twitter and my instinct was to dismiss it, but I think it's at least worth considering, especially since he really hasn't had a good game yet this season... I'd be interested in that... but why would any team decide to help the Mavericks... when the Mavs FO have been so, so bad for so, so long... and if those teams have the assets to lure Luka away in his year 7? I would seriously forget about Markkanen... because if I was Danny Ainge, rather than trading Markannen to the Mavs, I would be plotting to steal Luka away by showing him how shite his current team and FO are... and especially knowing that I have the picks it would need to trade for Luka if/when he decides he's had enough. Modern NBA contracts are structured so a player can ask out after year 7, after getting a ton of $$. AD asked out after his year 7. The Pelicans built better teams around AD than the Mavs have built around Luka. Luka's year 7 is coming up soon. Real soon. I don't think the Mavs could ever build a better team around Luka than this one below... G: Keyonte (secondary playmaker, 3-point shooter) SG: Agbaji (3-point shooter and POA defender) SF: Luka PF: Markannen / Hendricks (floor-spacing PFs) C: Kessler / Hendricks (Rim protector / Rim protector who can also defend the perimeter) The Mavs only have Lively as an equivalent to Kessler... that too, after 5 years of having Luka, lol. I would have to be stupid in the head to think about helping the Mavs, i.e., if I was the Jazz GM, when I could have Luka myself instead, and already have the perfect pieces in place. Just trying to point out the obvious, is all. Oh, and Luka to Utah is better than Luka to LAL. Or, you're a Jazz fan. Big free agents plot and beg their way OUT of Utah, not IN. Luka will never be interested in playing there, and neither will any other player with guaranteed multiple max offers. Literally, not one. If Danny Ainge is approaching his job that way then he won't be very successful. Life was very hard, and immigration was one way for them to live better. Their continuous poverty, news that United States have more economic and educational opportunities, and already established Slavic community pulled immigrants to Utah. I see history repeating itself here. Luka's current team in NBA seems like a poverty team. DJJ, G-Will, Powell, THJ, Green, Curry, Hardy, etc? 5+ whole years and still so barren, or continuously poverty stricken. He's no closer to winning an NBA title than when he was playing for Real Madrid. Meanwhile, players like Lebron, Steph, Durant, Kawhi, Giannis, Embiid, Jokic, Tatum, Booker, Fox, SGA, etc play on teams that have an embarrassment of riches. I don't even mention Wemballama yet. Even Domin-Ayton have better team in Portland. Why should Luka stay and play on poverty team because of bad owner Mark Cuban? It makes sense for Dallas (hopefully Wiggins regains his stats from last year). It's the THj or GWill plus Green that is the most interesting part. THj moving might have the biggest impact on the roster. Olynyk brings rebounds, assists, and a few points. He's not a shot blocker, but he's an upgrade. I'd like to see this trade. |
