RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: Contract negotiations stalled, IND to find Hield Trade - StrandedOnBeauboisHill - 09-21-2023 Isn't Brogdon officially broken down? Celtics were originally going to trade him then couldn't because he couldn't pass a physical, no? Not interested in a Hield for THJ swap unless it's something that can be expanded that includes Turner which I'm assuming isn't the case. Yes, I am biased as a german, but I'd love ti have him playing with us. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: Contract negotiations stalled, IND to find Hield Trade - Chicagojk - 09-21-2023 Saw this on Reditt. Nba trade rumors are back! Probably won’t happen but man Ayton is t more valuable than Ayton? $$$&&& Just now on Arizona Sports 98.7 out of Phoenix, John Gambodoro is hearing a Lillard trade to Miami is imminent within the next 24 hours, and he can’t rule out the possibility the Suns receive Nurkic and Portland gets Ayton. He says 4 different teams are in on Lillard, so it’s possible something else happens. Gambo is a trusted Suns insider with a track record. Again, he’s not reporting it’s happening, he is just hearing rumblings. Just to add the source here: https://streamable.com/t0mqxm Quote:The Mavericks, 76ers and Bucks have all shown interest in Buddy Hield: "You look at teams like Dallas, Philly, Milwaukee. Those are the types of teams that could definitely use a shooter like Buddy Hield. They’ve had a level of interest in him over the last several months." If thats the case, do you guys do a THJ+Holmes+Hardy for Buddy+Turner? RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: Contract negotiations stalled, IND to find Hield Trade - Chicagojk - 09-21-2023 (09-21-2023, 07:16 PM)SleepingHero Wrote: Gambo is a trusted source. If true I'm a bit heartbroken the Ayton dream is dead. This team is WCF with him. Bucks would be a good fit for Buddy imo. Pretty substantial upgrade from Grayson Allen in big moments. Not sure what the bucks have though to Interest Indiana. Any Mavs interest I assume would be a three team trade, I would guess. Wasn’t there some Toronto mavs and Indiana talk. I don’t expect it to happen but I wouldn’t expect a two team trade if Dallas was involved. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: IND to find Hield Trade| Shams: DAL, PHI, MIL interested - KillerLeft - 09-21-2023 I don’t know why it would even dawn on IND to consider moving Turner to grease a Hield trade. Spoiler alert: it wouldn’t, so they won’t. BUT…if there WAS a way to get Turner, I'd be all about it. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: IND to find Hield Trade| Shams: DAL, PHI, MIL interested - omahen - 09-22-2023 I really don't understand why Mavs would be interested. It only makes sense to trade THJ contract for a better suiting piece or save money. It makes even less sense to trade Holmes for "another THJ". Hield is not really a better suiting piece. Sure the offense would be atomic, but you can't win without defense, which will be non-existant with Luka-Kyrie-Hield trio and a weak center. Even if Hield would agree on a substantially lower value in an extension, I am not sure it makes sense for Mavs. On the other hand, it might be easier to flip expiring Hield for a center than THJ. But they better damn make that deal now, because the most likely alternative is that Hield walks in the summer or Mavs extend a not really fitting player for a multiyear deal, being again stuck with him, same way they are with THJ now. A deal like Hield to Atlanta, Capela to Dallas and THJ to Indy could make sense for everyone involved. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: Contract negotiations stalled, IND to find Hield Trade - omahen - 09-22-2023 (09-21-2023, 06:46 PM)StrandedOnBeauboisHill Wrote: Wonder what else the suns would get in that situation other than financial relief. Say what you will about Ayton but that’s a step down. I think Ayton-Nurkic deal does make some sense. Portland gets a young center to pair with their young guards. A solid foundation for a quick rebuild. Since this would be a part of Lillard deal, Phoenix doesn't necessarily need to get additional salary to make it happen. Of course it depends on other pieces involved and salary matching, but it is not necessary. So they could save a bunch of money and get some flexibility. In addition, I would think they get some draft compensation or young player from Miami. On the other hand, I do agree that Nurkic is a step down and their defense will be even more questionable. But, he will be a solid regular season piece. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: IND to find Hield Trade| Shams: DAL, PHI, MIL interested - omahen - 09-22-2023 A bit more information/rumors on the Ayton thing https://gophnx.com/deandre-ayton-trade-rumors-phoenix-suns-dark-horse-damian-lillard/ Gambo saying Nurkic is not it https://twitter.com/TheDunkCentral/status/1704993856834457960 RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: IND to find Hield Trade| Shams: DAL, PHI, MIL interested - omahen - 09-22-2023 Mavs interest in Hield might be months old. It makes sense they could have had discussion about him, when other things were possible, like moving THJ or getting the center. At this point, I don't see it. https://twitter.com/TheDunkCentral/status/1704975382326227327 JamesConway912 - JamesConway912 - 09-22-2023 Hield would basically be as useful on this roster as THJ currently is. That being said he’s a) expiring and b) Imo a slightly better player than THJr so I’d be on board with a swap. Re Ayton: 1 He’d be a big help immediately with upside for more 2 If they’re talking about absorbing Nurkic we’re probably still in the mix. Nurkic‘s deal is pretty terrible by itself. I can’t say I’m overly enarmored with with either Hield / Ayton but if we’re talking about simple swaps without touching picks I’d be down for it. Hardaway + Holmes for Ayton would be something I could get behind or just Hield for Hardaway straight up. JamesConway912 - JamesConway912 - 09-22-2023 https://x.com/gambo987/status/1705012408199368803?s=46&t=-bN4oD2OLU_Ue80HIM_CZQ This looks like public negotiating via a local beat writer to me from the Suns. Apparently the Lillard-trade is gaining traction and now they’re suddenly interested in Nurkic who barely ever plays and makes a ton of money? RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: IND to find Hield Trade| Shams: DAL, PHI, MIL interested - ItsGoTime - 09-22-2023 I look at that reporting and then think…and whatever the Mavs offered is “underwhelming” or “trash”? RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: IND to find Hield Trade| Shams: DAL, PHI, MIL interested - Chicagojk - 09-22-2023 Ayton will always be a guy I am torn on. I could see him being a really elite #3 on a championship team in the future. On the other hand, I have read things that make me want nothing to do with him. With that being said, if he wound up in Portland (with additional draft picks I would believe), I sort of like that for Portland. Ayton is a better fit than Nurkic, is younger and has years left on his contract. He would be a nice younger piece to see if you could grow with your young core. I am just unsure what PHX would want back. Nurkic appears like a pretty dramatic downgrade to me. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: IND to find Hield Trade| Shams: DAL, PHI, MIL interested - KillerLeft - 09-22-2023 The one and only way I might be interested in a THJ/Hield swap, from the Mavs' perspective, is that I believe the contract expiration date would move one year closer, meaning they'd have a useful expiring at THIS deadline, instead of next. Maybe that's of some interest to them? Or, maybe they're interested in simply renting him and then letting him expire and go elsewhere as a FA (like Wood) as a way of off-setting coming expenditures, such as a Green extension, without elevating the overall payroll? I don't particularly love that thought, but it makes sense to me. What doesn't make sense is them deciding to re-up for another few years of a Hardaway type guy at an even higher price point, even if the 3pt% will be a little higher with the new one. The thing is, if their interest (should it even exist) is in line with my thinking, they'd be offering rental trade offers comprised of junk. Hardaway is probably the nicest thing they'd put in that package. I'm not super high on Hield, but if I was running a team who I thought NEEDED a Hield/Hardaway type, I might peel off a bit more in an offer that reflected my desire to acquire and EXTEND Hield. That's the offer the Pacers want, I'd think. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: IND to find Hield Trade| Shams: DAL, PHI, MIL interested - Ghost of Podkolzin - 09-22-2023 MIN has an overload at C, especially with extending Naz. The KAT/Gobert experiment didn't work. CLE can't progress with a frontcourt of J.Allen and Mobley. They need a stretch big, and Mobley isn't going anywhere. What does everyone think about a deal where the main components would be KAT to CLE, J.Allen to DAL? Obvious for DAL in getting a young-ish allstar C. Obvious for CLE in having a 4-headed superteam of Garland/Mitchell/Mobley/KAT. What compensation would MIN be looking for? |
