RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? McMahon disputes| BOS likes KP? - Chicagojk - 06-21-2023 Bertans had to walk before Gallo could run....or something like that Clippers definitely have a type. That type being guys who play 65% of games and tend to get hurt in the playoffs. Ha. McMahon disputes| BOS likes KP? - BigDirk41 - 06-21-2023 I would actually like KP as our 3rd best player. He could be really good in that role if healthy. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? McMahon disputes| BOS likes KP? - SweetFidelia - 06-21-2023 In 25% of Boston's playoff games, Joe Mazzulla felt Grant Williams wasn't worth playing for even 1 second (5 playoff DNPs). His attempts to "get tough" and get in Jimmy Butler's head in the ECF is high comedy. Jimmy kept giving him a wedgie and taking his lunch money. If you get 3 DNPs (really 4) against the Hawks in a 6 game series, you are automatically disqualified from playing on my favorite team. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? McMahon disputes| BOS likes KP? - Jym - 06-21-2023 Guess it works out if we can do something special with the 10th pick but you gotta think that we make the playoffs with KP on the team this past year RE: Trade & FA 2023-24:POR wants Bam|LAC exploring PG trades|Harden back 2 PHI? - Knutsen - 06-21-2023 (06-21-2023, 02:23 PM)Ghost of Podkolzin Wrote: I think Mavs fans greatly undervalue KP. Top 10 defensive big and 6th in 3ptM for bigs at 38.5%3pt. Porzingis as a top 10 defensive big really throws shade on your calculation model, Pavel… He always had a couple of blocks, but so had Shawn Bradley. Doesn’t pass the eye test for me at all, he gets roasted after every switch and bullied by post players. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? Solid points but on the other hand I think the new coach wasn't a huge fan. Ime liked him more. While I don't like some of his antics and don't view him more than a good glue guy, I would be open to overpaying him a little. He is tough (sure Jimmy made him eat his words, but I want guys to not back down. Sometimes stars are stars), he can hit open threes and can defend physical players. He is built like a truck and uses his body to his benefit. Big fan of guys who aren't afraid to put a body on you. Mavs desperately need a guy who will piss other teams off. If he is available, I would definitely have interest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRfp7HHjKeg&t=91s RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? Mavs made the WCF without him. That´s why I would be super hesitant to add a big that a) cannot switch the pick and roll b) likes to post up / isn´t a willing pick&roll player. Still hate that early that year they were playing KP and Powell so much together Brunson, Bullock, Luka, DFS, KP starting and ending games would have won a lot too. WCF? Maybe not. Maxi played so well in those 2 series that we won and KP being there would have dampened that a lot RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? But for whatever reason (losing Brunson doesn´t explain the changes on defense) they went away from most of the stuff that worked during the 21/22 playoff run. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? McMahon disputes| BOS likes KP? - HoosierDaddyKid - 06-21-2023 Kinda ironic that the two players Dallas gave up on had pretty damn good year's elsewhere. Porzingis on Boston looks kinda scary if all they're giving up is Brogdon. But what happens with Timelord and Horford? I hear Gallo could be part of the deal along with Marcus Morris going to the Wiz. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? Yeah and last year showed that had less to do with KP and more to do with Jalen Brunson RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? But, getting KP out of the way obviously helped Brunson quite a bit. It was obvious that the entire mindset of the team changed for the positive the second that deal went down. I’m really struggling with this idea that last year’s wizards season is any type of proof that Porziņģis is underrated around here. If he was half the player everyone thinks he should be, they would have been an actual good team. Further, he’s about to opt out and take what will be his last four year deal, so it seems pretty clear that his main motivation was to put up meaningless counting stats in order to best position himself for that payday. Honestly, the place where this train started to go off of the rails was the original Porzingis deal with New York. I wish the team could hit a button and go back to that point in time. Do things better. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? Yeah you're going to have some problems if he's your best player which ended up being the case last season for the Wizards If anything to my KP tinted lenses it just proves how meh Kuzma and Beal are RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? I was being just a little facetious, Chicago. I like him, and there is no doubt we need a tough guy like that. I am concerned about an overpay and am not sure he's a starter, but he is definitely a very good role player that could help. RE: Trade & FA 2023-24: KOC- Mavs favs for Horford? Don't agree that if KP was good, the Wizards would be good. Luka played at MVP level and Mavs didn't even make the playoffs. The Wiz have a few decent players but Beal is a shell of his former self. Nobody is calling KP a star, but he is better than what he was here (after the first year). He just didn't fit, particularly with Luka. Only Jokic attempts at least 5 a game. KP actually has an average Dfg% in the paint. Look at his switches and contested long 2s & 3s. He is a top 10 defending big in 2023, not 1993. Y'all can keep hating on him bc Cuban screwed up terrifically, but the rest of the league won't. |
