Carlisle for the Dirkie! He made almost all of the adjustments many of us called for and it looked mostly great.

What didn't work? His 2nd quarter weirdo back to his roots tinkering lineup.

Glad we pulled through.

If we had just average 3 point shootig - today most were wide open, almost no contested pullups - we would have won many more games.

Toronto played great D for stretches.

Dallas with bad 3point defense, but outhustled Toronto tonight.

I hate losing to the Knicks but if I had to choose between them and Toronto, this win has to be a confidence builder for this team.  RC made some changes and that gives me hope he is going to settle into a defined rotation.  Wish JJ was taking THJ place but baby steps I guess.

Sweet win. But more important, Def, KP, Curry, Delon and coach finally kicked in. Happy here.

It's not that hard. THJ (still managed a way to be 2-11) and Powell can't play more than 20 min. Loved the heavy minutes on the starters. Sucks that we spend almost 40M this year on guys who can't play (Lee + THJ + Powell). If only it was two starters 15-20M caliber players. Good W.

Maxi. Siakam averages 27 points on 49/37/83 shooting. Was 6/24 with 5 tov for 15 points tonight.

Maxi definitely deserves it too. But I think KP had just as many altered shots in the paint. He shut down Norman Powell, Gasol, RHJ several times, each with emphatic blocks at times too. The energy he brought early set the tone and he hustled his butt off.

Maxi though put together a fantastic defensive outing.

Hopefully it isn't the rape accuser. Guy needs a break from drama, which he somehow draws on him.

Give me 30 boards a night from Luka and KP...and my life is complete.

Bullets:
  • I yelled at my TV because the Mavs once more sleepwalked into the game. But then they showed the fire I had hoped for, especially in the second half. Good effort and a quality win.
  • That we beat the Raps by shooting that poorly from three makes the win that much more impressive. Team really moved well without the ball at times, which made the offense much less stagnant. Imho most of our guys should be more aggressive when they have an open lane.
  • Shooting however was not encouraging. We are currently a high volume low percentage three-point shooting team. I assume we'll have a very high variance from game to game.
  • I guess we found our starting lineup? It's the one many favored for a long time because it simply makes sense and tonight they finally were able to deliver. Especially likes that Curry finally had an great a-around game. Even made some plays on defense.
  • Talking about defense, how about Maxi! Only 2-8 from three but boy he played a team-high 38 and deserved every bit of it. Siakam 6-24 is mainly because of him. Dude could never score and would still be a plus.
  • Seems like Rick is finally pulling the right strings. Powell's and THJ's minutes were down, Maxi starting, and Doncic getting rest a little bit earlier in the third to get more time in the 4th. My only explanation is that he reads MFFL fan boards.
  • Wright was an absolute beast and led the bench unit. He is so smooth and under control. Getting him consistent minutes closer to 25 should be a priority.
  • KP had a subpar shooting night, but was very engaged and held his ground on defense against Gasol a few times. Really good overall effort from him and a nice bounce-back game after MSG.
  • Luka wasn't looking too great early on, missing free throws and coughing the ball up. He rebounded to some extent, but felt like this was one of his weaker performances so far. Mediocre Luka is still good for 26/15/7 though. And he sealed the game in the 4th.

1)  Loved the starting lineup of LD,KP,MK,SC,DFS -- still would like to see a LD,KP,MK,SC,Delon Wright lineup get a shot...but I'll take tonight's lineup and be happy.
2)  Maxi high 30s in minutes, DP less than 20...keep that up.
3)  So glad all my worry about rebounding was misplaced.  We're 5th in the NBA in rebounding, 11th defensive, 5th offensive and the Mavs starters outrebounded the Raptors starters 46-28, that's awesome!
4)  Welcome back, Real Seth Curry!  60% from 3, solid defense.  Never invite Fake Seth Curry back again for a stay...ever.
5)  Our statisticians need to stop robbing KP of blocks...seriously.
6)  NBA officiating was pisspoor again...we were the beneficiaries with Luka shooting 15 FTs, but they let a LOT of contact go all night...I hate that we can't have officiating to a quality befitting the greatest basketball league in the world.

I will take this win...without doubt!  #mffl  #letsgomavs

Can't be, it's a white girl. Porzingis' rape accuser is Nigerian, and the accusation is weaker than even most Nigerian mail scams when you look into it

Raptors POV and thoughts about Doncic.

The Toronto reporter also mentioned the Dirk silhouettes on the court as incredible.

Toronto shot 40% on 3s, 50% at the half.

Mavs again with abysmal 3point shooting but not taking bad shots.

Mavs won the game with more possessions and in the paint.

Looking at the Mavs on paper, they aren't particularly big. But, they've team rebounded well because of Luka, DFS , Kleber and Kristaps hitting the boards, especially Luka who's almost averaging double figures on the boards.
