Just checking to see if anyone else heard this on the radio? I was in the drive up window of Whatabuger and thought I heard that anyone who misses a NBA game in NY or SanFran due to being unvaxxed will not be payed for games missed.
I cant find any news of this on the net so not sure if this is true or not?

What i really wonder ... with so much money on the line, if you really don't want to be vaxxed, why not just find a doctor who throws a dose into the bin, gives you the certificate and nobody asks any questions ... nobody will ask for an antibody test, right?

Yep if it works the same way when Minnesota got docked picks for the Joe Smith fiasco. There were only 28 picks made in the first round instead of 29. No doctor is risking his medical license for that. That is unless the player gives the doc a hefty payout under the table (which again is highly illegal).

If the player offered millions of dollars for a fake vaccine card then I suppose there'd be at least one doctor interested in risking his license. But there are a bunch of headaches when it comes to payouts that big, or I at least imagine so. I'm sure the IRS would love to know how this doc got an extra mil or two especially if there are no insurance records showing he gave treatment. Just saying. Its risky and in doing so the physician (AND PLAYER!) risks their livelihood and prison time. All over a freakin vaccine.

Well, if they are doing it to make a point (Kyrie), or for religious reasons , bribing goes against both things

When I got the vaccine there was no doctor in sight. It was me and a nurse alone in a room. All she had to do is spray that vaccine in the sink and wash it down, put a bandaid on my arm and give me a signature on a piece of paper. That's probably tops $9540 cash, an oddly specific number below the suspicious activity reporting requirement for banks when you take out or deposit $10k or more in cash. This was my thinking as well ... or you get it somewhere in the world during "vacation". Pocket money for the stars that don't intend to send a message, but just don't want the vax for whatever reason. Also here it says you can get a fake certificate for less than 200 $US (and i believe it, although i'd not risk my NBA career for it).

I read that the NBA will not check the certificates unless there is evidence of fraud

If only there was a team with a trade exception and some room under the tax apron not named OKC.
While we’re here, look for the Pacers to pay a team to take Sumner’s $2.3 million salary, which would allow Indy to fill that roster spot with a healthy player and stay below the tax. The most promising way out of the tax, I dare say, is to attach Simons’ $3.9 million salary to a future second-round pick at the trade deadline. The only viable alternative is a more major surgery involving one of their top-six players. https://theathletic.com/2860629/2021/10/...treadmill/ https://theathletic.com/2860640/2021/10/...owed-time/
Cheap ass Sarver. Now I wish we had some cap space next offseason.
