I'd try to do both. They lost the 51 point game.

You're probably right, but even though I can think of a great number of positive butterfly effects of that, the negative wasn't worth the best-case scenarios of all those things, so their perspective was short-sighted. If they manage the labor of Hercules of losing the next four games, then in that event, presuming the Pels and Grizz both beat the Jazz, *then* it was worth it. If they move down in odds but still luck into the top four, then it was worth it. But they don't know all of those unlikely contingencies now.

I have had this thought more than once over the past couple of days. Right or wrong, they seem super focused on getting him that award, much more so than losing out. Outwardly, at least.

Sixth to the last day of the season. Two games of interest:

Jazz at Pels, 7:00 pm CST. The Pels have got to win this, c'mon.

Mavs at Clipps, 9:30 pm CST. Please, tell me Coop has a hangnail.

"Tell me Coop has a hangnail." Let's do it this way -- in this game we'll have him hang "half a hundo" on the Clipps and nail it on the forehead of every ROTY voter, while making a game-ending flashy impossible-but-perfect pass for a wide-open assist to win the game, that the Mav shooter bricks -- there's your 'Copp Has a Hangnail' story that we can all vote for!

I've had the gut feeling we are going to be picking 10th overall. The good news is I'm usually wrong about most things.

Fifth to the last day of the season. Two games of interest:

8:00 pm - Grizz at Nugz. Lulz, Grizz aren't winning this.

9:00 pm - Mavs at Suns. Both teams segababa. They're good, we aren't. We'll see how many they sit. I'm hopeful after last night.

Biggest take away from last night is that Kidd finally got the memo to not win anymore games. He pulled the starters with 3+ minutes to go when we were still in striking distance. Doubt we'd have won anyway, but still. I also wouldn't be surprised if Naji misses the rest of the season with his new wrist injury.

PJ, Klay, Gaff, Naji, and BWill are all out tonight. They're not messing around anymore.

Kidd definitely got the memo, pulling everyone with 4+ to go and only down 7. The end of the bench and the tank Gods might punish us for being so blatant.

Cisse and Powell preserve the tank.

Fourth to the last day of the season. No games of interest.

The Mavs' lottery odds will come down to three games - 1) tomorrow vs. the Spurs, 2) Sunday vs. the Bulls, and 3) the Grizz's Friday game vs. the Jazz. If the Pels' last two games have to come into it, we're already in trouble.

UTAH is a 3.5 point favorite over Memphis tomorrow.. Can’t remember the last time the Jazz were favored. Here’s to hoping for a Grizzlies upset!

That will be a mad mud-wrestling scramble to lose, with the futures of both franchises in the balance. It will come down to which team is the most willing to pay an exorbitant fine. To me, that means the Grizz are already as good as checkmated.

3rd to the last day of the season (btw, no games tomorrow). 3 games of interest:

Pels at Celtics, 6:30 pm CST - the Pels aren't winning this. Hopefully, that's immaterial.

Mavs at Spurs, 7:00 pm CST - if the Spurs try, this should be an easy loss. But I don't trust that gusano Popovich.

Grizz at Jazz, 8:30 pm CST - this is really the lynchpin game for us the rest of the way. C'mon, Ainge. Force-feed 'em that win.

Mavs are a pimple on the Spurs butt right now.  They are looking at much bigger things.  Although the Mavs do have a potential #1 player on a team as a 19 year old.    If my bitter rival over years was in a tanking battle and my seed is already set, I would love to make it very hard for that team to win a game that could jeopardize that seeding.    I know if the stakes were reversed, I would hope the Mavs would do everything needed to lose the game tonight.
