Too many inconsistent players, that can deliver on some nights but are completely ineffective in others. But quiet deep team in talent, much more than Mavs. I think the inconsistency is the main issue for them to perform well consistently and contend. Trae, Reddish in particular, but also to some degree Collins, Bogdanovic, Huerter etc.
I am mainly interested in the consistent team players of that team for a trade. The first to mention would be Hunter. The second is Capela.

When somebody hits you in the back and the knees with such a dirty and dangerous play and when you are not looking (Morris) - then, the question is how can you NOT react? It's a natural evolutionary instinct for humans (any living spieces in general) to hit back in the same way and protect yourself. To me it's obvious that this natural instinct was triggered in Jokic and he could not stop it.
In the heat of the moment, I can definitely understand the actions of Jokic. If I was the Nuggets coach I would still ask Jokic to next time try not to do it, as he is needed for the game/playoffs to win. But I would never blame him for making a natural instinct and reaction, this is inherently build in all our brains and most/many people can not control this naturally. I would congratulate Jokic if he was able to hold it back next time and not react. But I would never never blame him for not being able to stop the reaction.
Players that INITIATE such incidents are the main to blame. Morris absolutely should be able to stop himself for initiating such a dirty play. He got a proper lesson, well deserved. Maybe, this will HELP Morris not initiate such incidents in the future, he will maybe think twice before attacking someone or trying to injure someone.

I believe Atlanta has had a pretty difficult early season schedule, but it is still surprising to see a team who boat raced us on opening day sitting at 4-8.

So Morris instigates and gets fined $50k while Jokic gets suspended for a game? 1/82nd of his base is $372k.
That sounded a little uneven to me, but Morris' salary would only result in a loss of $32k for a one game suspension, so I guess he get's a bigger hit proportionally.

I don't disagree with the 1 game suspension for Jokic, but the nba needs to do something when the Morris twins play dirty. Next time he trips someone give him a 1 game suspension too. If it happens over and over escalate to 2, 3, games etc.

Jokic and Morris should have received equal punishment. Even if you consider Joker's actions worse, and I certainly do even if understandable, player history should be factored in.

I don't consider Jokic's action worse. The Ref could have prevented Jokic's action if he had done the right thing when Morris committed a flagrant foul.

Does the lost game check and fines go into a separate account somewhere? Is it used for charity work?
Are the teams required to withhold the funds and submit to NBA?

Morris cheap shot happened as part of a basketball action. Jokic retaliated with a blindside hit after the action had stopped. I don't blame Jokic for what he did and the Morris twins are some cheap-shot artists so I have little sympathy. In a vacuum, Joker's sin was the greater of the two. Outside of the vacuum, the fines/suspensions should have been equal given the player conduct histories of those tow.

Re Jokic's suspension. Suspending the reigning MVP is quite rare. The last time it happened was in 2008 when Dirk got suspended for a flagrant foul.
This just proves a long held belief of mine that Euro ballers are nothing more than soccer hooligans.

You're probably right, but I don't like it. I wonder how many observers out of ten would see the exchange and think that Morris was the victim and Jokic was a punk who took a cheap shot.

If my twitter feed is anything close to representative of general opinion, way more than you'd think. Like, 50%, basically.

It doesn't feel like Fournier is playing any D at all. Also Deni and Rivers seem unlikely candidates. Is see Frank is 27.5% albeit on a volume of 40.
