Great point. And also I would add, the mental aspect of it. He seems bothered when he misses free throws. It can impact his game. He is great even when under impact. But when he is in a flow, he destroys opponents. Just that one extra free throw made, or two, would be less of distraction for Luka, and improve his domination in other areas IMO. It would have larger effect, then that of the points these free throws create.
On top of that, it also impacts opponents. If they start seeing Luka make the free throws, they would give up in the half time.
Mental impact, both on Luka himself, and the opponents. Probably on the fans as well. Agree with the article that its not as big deal in the games, although there has been few games for sure where it mattered on the outcome, perhaps. But you can say that about everything and everyone.
