Very important game. Win and Mavs build a bit of a cushion between themselves and Pels/Houston. Loss is a stepback. Pelicans are a strange team. Should be a good defensive team but their defense doesn't really work in reality. Their spacing is suspect but they have an explosion here and there. Kleber made a name for himself last season against Pels. Let's hope he can repeat his performance against Zion.

This graph is depressing.

Want to see Maxi shut down Zion and get his first belt. If that’s gonna happen, it’s a must win game.

@"Kammrath" those nightly graphs are very helpful, thanks!

Seems like the team is steadily rising again, offensively. Maybe we'll see a defensive improvement soon.

He better suck so his price goes down Smile

On a more serious note. Do you think he would be a good trade? I don't think he is any better than any of our existing top 4 guard rotation players. He is sort of ok skill wise overall but not elite at anything.

Well, at least the Mavs logo is back on the right side of the vertical line!

Last 10 games Lonzo's been averaging 15.3/5.2/4.9 on 46.3/46.2/90.9

Seeing that 3pt % and FT % alone is enough to make me drool.

Small sample alert? His 5 games in December were very bad on average, his 10 games in January were bad on average and now he has 6 excellent games in February, mainly because his three point shots were going in at a high rate. He only had 3 FTA in all 10 January games combined and shoots only one per game on average for his career. His shooting is still suspect for me as it mostly comes from wide open shots, often a consequence of defense not taking him seriously.

We can agree to disagree, but I just don't see more than marginal improvement at best. I think Richardson is a better defender while ok attacker (I still think there is much more left once he gels with the other guys), THJ is a better shooter while ok defensively and Brunson is a better PG. All of them get to the line way more. He is only 23 but neither of our guys are old, even THJ and Richardson just entered their prime. Even if the price would be like Green, salary filler and draft compensation I am not sure how I would fit him in the rotation.

Tbh, I waffle back and forth on Lonzo Ball, but most times I settle on "no" based solely on the instinct to keep that entire family as far away from this team as possible.

That´s my only concern but I think moving away from LA really helped him. Not to mention that Lavar is focusing on Lamelo.

Ya, but you can be assured that the more press any one of his sons get, the closer he will be to that son. Lamelo is getting the press right now, not to mention Lonzo kinda pushed back on his father in LA (possibly a full distancing, but who knows).

Now if this was LaMelo,  pull that trigger. LaMelo is going to be a stud. He's already good.

Easy gameplan. Build a wall in the paint and hope that they miss from 3.

KP shooting great from 3! If he can just hit these open shots consistently it will open up so much.

Gonna have to really work to box out Adams. He’s gonna kill us with our poor rebounding tendencies
