But while I believe that they're going to listen to offers this offseason, but they're ultimately going to decide that all the offers don't make the more Mavs competitive in the immediate future than just keeping KP.
If they don´t want to trade Porzingis this off-season after they bubble-wrapped him for a whole play-off series, it´s just stupid.
While I am criticial of Porzingis the performer, you cannot use him in this pathetic (health protective) way and then keep him. That´s just gross.
Kawhi took the main responsibility to guard Luka for the last 2-3 games, so somebody else was guarding Porzingis. Now I get that he might not be as fast/agile anymore as he was last year, but I really fail to see how that impacts his offense, which mainly consists of his ability to catch and shoot from long range, whether it´s open or over guys that are a foot shorter than him. He was also successfully rim-running from the weakside as long as there was no physical contact risk, so his movement could not have been completely compromised either.
To me Porzingis and the Mavs decided, that it´s best to move on this summer and both sides tried their hardest to avoid another injury.
If not, and this is really their idea of how to use a $30M max player in the play-offs, (or Porzingis idea of what rim-protection, rebounding and help defense are supposed to look like), then we are truly f*****.
