I think we’re all there.

I am ALL in with trying Maxi+KP for a good long stretch. If that were not to work, fine trying DP+KP some, but otherwise would go back to WCS+KP and try to figure out a way to work out the kinks on the offensive side of things.

I still like the idea of KP and WCS playing together (especially defensively), but KP's offensive performance at the 5 speaks for itself and deserves prioritization. BTW, I did notice that in the post-game interview KP specifically called out (again) being a lot more comfortable playing at the 5.

That said, I'm not so quick to make definitive lineup calls with a depleted roster and I also agree with Kam that more practice may help. It'll be interesting to see how the rotation shakes out when everyone is available.

I understand what you like about it, and I am softening a little bit. Still, you can’t deny that the offense looked significantly better tonight. Like, a different team better. One of the first things I noticed is that Luka, Porzingis and Burke are all flat out different players when they have space out there.

In theory, Kleber should be able to do what PJ Tucker has been doing for his whole career. If he can, the Mavericks might have something.

I really love that KP mentioned the explosiveness on D. I know we all see it, but I'm glad he also recognizes it and is working on it.

While we all love offensive production, WCS has been putting up impressive numbers in his own way.

Don't distort the fan narrative with facts. Come on now. Smile

I have to confess, I've never really delved into the world of Reddit. Is there a thriving Mavs community there?

You're living in bliss if you haven't delved into Reddit. Steer. Clear.

There is a dedicated Mavs forum, and it has grown substantially ever since Luka was drafted (It's now at 100K members from 50K since 2018). Big number, but there are only ever 40-50 comments on any one post usually unless it's a trade rumor. So it's not this massive mecca of Mavs fandom.

Further, the average user are the most causal of fans. It is NOT the place to get any sort of in-depth analysis or any sort of constructive commentary. I frequently see posts that indicate to me the average user there are either new fans or are fair-weather. Stuff like "Fire Rick" after a loss (that isn't said ironically), or "Who's Bernard James/Maurice Ager/Devean George" to suggest they've only seen DSJ highlights.

Finally it is legit like a hivemind. Once you're there long enough you begin to notice trends in what is usually said in threads in order to get the most upvotes. Over and over again. The same stuff. And it's usually so reactionary too. I liken Reddit NBA/Mavs stuff to basically IFunny. It's made to literally turn your brain off and to pretend like you're 7 years old. If you have absolutely nothing else and are trying to kill time it's a good resource if you're hunting for a basketball fix (I only ever browse in waiting rooms or the bathroom).

So my suggestion is to steer clear. I remember your critiques of the Locked On Mavs podcast and Reddit echoes a lot of those same issues, except amplified.

I so like it when I learn something.
This Reunion Rowdie says the AAC needs "Luka's Lunatics" for the Luka/KP and gang era.

I will say this though because after rereading my post it was overwhelmingly negative; Reddit is fantastic for breaking NBA news. It's usually my go-to refresh in the offseason because the site is filled with bots that automatically post when something breaks.

So it has its uses. I just find it so calorically empty in terms of substance. I look at the headline but usually never read the comments lol. But hey maybe that's just what some people want, and they don't really care about the nitty gritty. To each their own.
