NEWS: China upset w/ NBA...NBA will lose $400 million
Kudos to Shaq for this statement tonight on the situation. Also good to see someone waving the Hong Kong flag right behind him EJ Charles and Kenny tonight. Tencent didn't air the opening game in China but are set to air the Lakers-Clippers match from what I've read.

China is lol.  They claim they didn't ask for Morey to be fired but then promise retribution on Silver.  Authoritarians have trouble being cuddly when their first instinct is to silence or crush opposition.

What kind of threat is the Chinese commentator making towards Silver, exactly? Do they want to "re-educate" Silver?

You know, I've seen multiple interviews with US farmers who have been affected by the US tariffs on China, and every farmer I've heard has stated that they understand why President Trump is doing this, that China does need to stop stealing technology, and needs to engage in fair trade.  If these farmers, many of whom are not rich like NBA players, are willing to take a hit from the tariffs and can call China out, I don't see why Lebron and the NBA cannot.

NBA fans wearing shirts that support the protesters in Hong Kong are being asked to leave the arena.  Yeah, it's just about "not being educated enough to speak to the subject"... #nbachina  All about LeBron's money...

Clearly he was talking aggregated numbers over a significant number of years. I only care about how much the cap is impacted over the next two. If the Mavs haven’t fully built their team by then, then this era of the NBA will be pointless to me anyway.

That said, China and her government have much bigger problems right now than a squabble with a sports league or even Hong Kong. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see a reset in the relationship with the NBA.

I still don’t see anything wrong with Bron or anyone else in the US wanting to speak up about only issues that affect them directly. Why should they involve in what is happening in China? Does Trump talk about human rights violations in Saudi Arabia? If a state here tomorrow decides to secede and the US government uses force to block that, should players from other countries boycott the US?

The only problem here was Bron targeting Morey. That should not have happened.

One thing to not speak about something, Another to kiss their a** and call the person who stood up uneducated.
Non of business  is  a respectful reaction IMHO.

Huh? Read my last para and some earlier posts I have made on this thread.  I am saying the same thing.

However, I don’t agree with Bama that because Bron wants to speak out on other things he should talk about China too. As mentioned everyone picks and chooses the battles they want to fight. Show me one person who is exempt from that.

In an interview with Bloomberg's Jason Kelly, LeBron discussed what he is hoping to accomplish by addressing the issues head-on: "I speak about things that I'm knowledgeable about, that I'm educated on. And at the end of the day, right is right, and wrong is wrong. I want the betterment of people—no matter skin color, no matter race, no matter anything.

Huh
Josh Green is a top 5 Mavs player...

That's like saying " a rising tide lifts all boats", but the BLM position is that some boats have a shorter tether and can't rise freely. so something needs to be done or they'll sink. At least that's my understanding.
