That was crazy cheap for Philly, plus they get a player they can use. Unless something comes later like Richardson or Thybulle is also in the deal

How could be anything Mavs offered for Green worse than Horford contract? I guess Presti thinks he can recover Horford value and flip him for more picks next year

They got two picks, including a first.

I doubt the Mavs would've offered #18.

Sure they did get two picks. They also got worse contract in the league. And they actually added Ferguson to Green. I don't think this trade is legal until they get rid of Gallo (salaries don't match, I think). Perhaps this will all be a huge 4 team deal?

I would assume this fouls up the logistics of a sign and trade. Can't have Gallo on the books to take in Horford; Dallas can't take on Gallo without sending salary.

Hope Cow's happy.

Yay, the 2020 version of the Olynyk/Jones-or-was-it-Dragic deal.

The deal gives them a future (2025) 1st and the high 2nd this year + Horford + the rights to Vasilije Micic a top rated guard in Europe.

https://sixerswire.usatoday.com/2020/11/...anny-green

For OKC it makes sense if you consider that
1) Horford was out of position in Philly because he's better now at center.  Horford is still considered a great vet to put with young guys.
2) The future 1st + #34 this year is nice draft capital.
3) They may think they have a good shot at Micic stashed in Europe.  He's only 26.

For Philly it's a salary dump they really, really needed to make because they messed up and way overspent on a guy who ended up a backup center (they should have kept Boban really).
Its not clear what Danny Green really has left after he showed some decline last season but IF he can still play, he's a great veteran fit.

What if Green - Horford trade has an extension? Green+pick(s) to Sacramento, Hield to Philly.

This league is weird: Horford sure as hell can't play next to Adams, and Presti already has about 69 first-rounders secured all through 2121.

I get that trade on an individual basis - yet it still doesn't make a lot of sense to me...

What is not clear? It is about the 69 picks. And Adams will net another one, once he is traded. Once Presti finds a star with one of those picks, he can trade remaining 34 for great sidekicks.

So he's taking on Horford's Albatross 90m contract, just to get another 1st..?

Like I said, doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Seems morey like, he owed a certain old buddy...

I have said the same thing. How many do you really need? It´s hard to argue with Presti´s results though.

The guy is ripping people off left, right and centre. Gets a pick for taking on a bad contract then turns it around and gets another pick for the same player.

Probably already has the Kings lined up to get another pick/player from them for Horford. Dodgy
