@"ClutchDirk" I figure we will put deals with their own threads so people don't have to wade through the giant offseason thread to get news.

So, where's the idea that Green doesn't end up in OKC coming from? Has someone reported that, or is it just us trying to connect dots? I saw the Marks tweet, but that just seemed like a cap nerd pointing out the possibilities. Was there something else?

Wait, huh?

Schroder for #28 and nothing going back to OKC? Has to be a matching contract cause LaL can't take on more salary. That detail tells us what Schroder's value is to OKC. This is also the first domino to fall in OKC's tear down.

Just looked it up, Schroder and Green make almost the exact same money and both are expiring after next year. That's probably the deal.

This is all I saw....point is that it seems OKC wants #28 and LAL wants Schoder, anything else could change if someone asks?

I mean, I totally buy that OKC will look to flip Green ASAP, but just wondering if we have solid evidence that THIS deal might include a 3rd team. It doesn't seem like we do, so far.

I don't see a reason why Green is not a fit for OKC. I agree that they will probably try to flip him, but when they don't get any good offers, they keep him and let him expire for 21 money. They got a first out of the deal which looks like what they want to use to rebuild, so mission accomplished.

"Instead, the Lakers let the Thunder win this trade twice: First, by turning Schröder into a late first, and then a second time when the Thunder inevitably trade Green. Additionally, the Lakers could have controlled Green’s ultimate destination and made sure he landed in the Eastern Conference. Now, it’s out of their hands. He could be a Clipper or Warrior before Thanksgiving; in particular, Green’s salary slots right into that giant trade exception the Warriors have."

Tankathon just updated there board and has already given OKC the LAL 28th pick.  They have the Mavs taking Poku at 18 and T. Bey at 31.

Did we not hear earlier that OKC was interested in Poku?  Would you now do 18 and Wright for 25, 28 and Green?

On one hand, there are a lot of potential hits in the 20-35 range so three draft picks would be cool.  Take RJ Hampton, Poku, Tyler Bey.

On other other hand, the more certain draft prospects seem to be mocked in the top 14-16.  Vassell, Hayes, even Nesmith and Saddiq Bey.  I feel like the Mavs are trying to get a certain piece instead of be patient with long term projects.

I'd pass. Prefer to simply draft at 18 rather than trade back for two guaranteed contracts. We already have 31 and I'm skeptical that the Mavs have any desire to add 3 rookies to the roster. I don't think they should be desperate to move Wright at this point.

Would you consider 18 and 31 for 25, 28 and a S&T Gallo.  Fill in the players to match salary.

I'm not sure that would be necessary. OKC doesn't have much leverage, so I would be inclined to just offer 31. It's hard to make work though without an under the table deal since free agency opens after the draft. Or you hope that OKC happens to like whoever you drafted.

It also depends on the other moves that are made and the pricetag on Gallo. I don't see him as starter long term, so I wouldn't do anything that compromises 2021 flexibility.

Clever.

I looked at some draft value charts.  Some say 18 is about equal to 25 + 28.  Other say Dallas would need to add 31.  The unknown is how OKC values Wright.  Is two years of him a positive?  Or, is it something that requires additional compensation?
