Yeah, I think several people have hinted Carlisle wasn't really going to be a viable candidate for the Celtics job because taking orders from a 44 year old 1st time General Manager would be too awkward for both Carlisle and Stevens.
Portland is a bad situation, because they basically just got to hire someone that makes Dame happy so that he doesn't demand a trade.
Indiana ... they have a young GM that is on thin ice. Does he want to add a huge personality and ego to the building that could undercut him?
I think the Bucks were the ideal situation for Carlisle. A veteran lockerroom that has their team already established and isn't worried about adding/retaining key free agents that just needs an X's and Os advantage that gets them over the hump, but thanks to a tweaked Kyrie ankle it looks like Coach Bud could be there for a while.
