His role should be Dwight Powell on steroids with brilliant defense and transition playmaking. The guy would be a weapon here.

It’s all about roles and who you are teaming Simmons up with. Embiid is absurdly better than KP as a player but he’s probably not even 50% as good a fit as KP alongside Ben.
Id be all over this angle over the summer.
The issue with trading for Simmons and making him a roll guy is assuming he's any good at that skill. Being the roller in the PNR is not as simple just being athletic. He will be below average at best in that role until he gets experience doing it. He doesn't run the PNR as a roller at all.
Dwight Powell is a great example of this. For the first few years on the Mavs his #s were awful in the PNR. And then he become an absolute weapon in the PNR. It's a matter of timing, setting the screens in the right spots and how to react to how the defense defends it. That takes time to learn.
