2020-2021 AROUND the NBA: Archived
Thunder 5-4. Amazing. Traded away 80% of their starting five for picks and still fighting for the play-offs. Wink Rebuilding the trade value of Horford and Hill, too. Big Grin

Fair to say that´s a franchise with an underrated winning culture. 13 years as the Thunder, only one losing season.

Chicago shot 55 % from three and still lost to Clippers. Have to play some defense, not just pile up some nice stats.

VAJ with 10 minutes. Got destroyed in the +/- by the human pogosevski stick. Between benching VAJ and filing a missing persons report on Irving, this titantic is all systems go for the iceberg. Most predictable outcome ever.

Disappointing, especially coming from the NBA which I tend to have higher regard for than other leagues.

It´s clearly the players making the push. The owners are all sitting in their mansions, self-isolating.

Next time THJ or Burke are bricking just remember that even Curry has games where he goes 1-15 from the field and 0-9 from 3.

In the same way that the NBA was a leader in originally shutting down, I personally kinda like that now they're a leader in finding safe but constructive ways to work through it. With tests, treatments, tracing, and now vaccines on the horizon, we know a lot more than when we retreated into a bubble. I'm confident that the league will figure things out and adjust if necessary. And I'm hopeful that it sets a good example for people in everyday life.

Maxi getting COVID shows they aren't finding a safe but constructive way to work through it.  How they've delayed games versus forcing teams to play shorthanded is uneven and waters down the product.  They also rushed the start of the season.   This is more about revenue than it is player safety and this isn't the first time in recent memory they've showed their collective asses when it comes to revenue (China/Hong Kong).  It's just disappointing.

I see that the reaction to any player testing positive for Covid is to play the blame game - as if the NBA or the players have a way to avoid anyone ever getting a positive.

That's just wrong. These players don't live in an isolated bubble. They are in a real world, where people catch covid, and they might also.

You can do everything right, and still catch this stuff. It's contagious, and a lot of people are out there who have it and might cross your path.

Of course you can also do stupid things and expose yourself even more. But they have to go from place to place where they live, travel to other cities at times, stay in public hotels, and on and on, and all of that offers chances to be exposed, whether you like it or not.

It's unfortunate that a couple of Mavs have caught it so far. Maybe they didn't do anything except have bad luck. I know for certain they didn't get it on purpose. But if you're bashing those who were the unlucky ones, and think you're so smart, maybe one day you catch it despite being super careful and realize that it's just how it goes. It can happen to you.

Danilo Gallinari has missed two weeks with an ankle sprain; Rajon Rondo has missed seven games with a knee injury; Kris Dunn, Tony Snell and first-round pick Onyeka Okongwu haven’t played a game; and now Bogdan Bogdanovic will miss extended time with an avulsion fracture with associated soft tissue inflammation and bone bruising in his right knee.   The Athletic

Commissioner: OK Philly. Did you lie about Simmons being injured to try to get the game postponed, or did you evade accurately updating the injury reports as required by league rules?

Philly: What has the smaller penalty?

Commissioner: Fudging the injury report.

Philly: That. We did that. Our bad.
