Questionable isn't the worse thing. If he was listed as doubtful then that'd be a big deal.

Yes, it shows that they think the Mavs are soft and will defer to the Clippers.

OR that the bettors think that Luka won't play or will be way less than 100% if he does.

I can't picture exactly how Luka plays and things don't go poorly, specifically him making his injury worse. He has injured his ankle a few times and this injury definitely looks like a multi-week injury not a 2 day turnaround type of injury. There is zero chance he would be playing if it was a regular season game.

I would much rather give him at least one game off (honestly he might be done if we are honest, there aren't enough rest days left) and see if JJB can turn back the clock one more time.

I honestly wouldn't start Burke, I'd leave him in his usual rotation. I would play JJB a lot of minutes, this is a perfect "break-the-glass" moment to see if JJB can get something going. Our offense has looked good even when Luka's not out there so I don't think its automatic that we get smoked. The Clippers might relax while the Mavs would continue to play desperate.

I really hope Luka sits at least one game, he really might break his own ankle putting to much stress on it.

I understand your thinking here, and I would have been right with you in past seasons, being a long time JJB fan.  I've also defended JJB against his detractors here for many seasons.  But with JJB not having even seen much of the court in so long, I'd have to prefer Burke at this point.  At least he has seen success in this series.

IF they play Luka tomorrow, and I don't think it's a great idea to, they need to watch how he moves. Having had sprains that made me hobble on one leg for a few minutes before I know that even if he ignores the pain he won't be able to move like he normally can for a while. Just from a pure basketball perspective playing him could be a mistake because he would be such a liability out there with no defense and a broken shot

I’d be shocked if Luka Doncic plays this afternoon. After seeing him hobbling around the court last game, it would take some miraculous healing in the interim.

I get the sentiment and we'll see what Rick does but Burke is going to shoot a lot when he's out there. With the starting unit I'd rather have a guy that distributes the ball more. Again in Rick we trust, I am down with whatever he decides to do. Hopefully Luka sits, there is just no reason for him to be out there with a bad ankle.

Obviously not having Brunson out there is a big deal. If the Mavs can keep Burke or get another guy in here like Dragic then that will be great Luka ankle insurance moving forward. Brunson of course will be back so you really just need one more guard and we know Rick is not shy about getting as many guards as possible.

A little reminder before people start bashing Maxi again:

Found this on reddit, unluckily there's no source linked, however these numbers seem legit.

I'm surprised and indifferent about the choice. I know he would never say he's hurt in a playoff game and do everything he can to make the doc's and coaching staff feel comfortable with saying yes. I hope he doesn't further injure himself due to babying that ankle. On the other side, the more playoff games he can be a part of, the more ready he'll be next year. Experience in the playoffs is just about the most important thing in his progression at this point.

I hope Luka at least tries to mix in more off ball stuff. I don't like the idea of him doing a lof of crossovers on a bad ankle. I would be tempted for example to play him more with Curry and let Curry initiate the offense more.

Luka is one of the most ball dominant guys in the league so I am not sure if you can adjust his game over night but I would be tempted to try.

Realistically, these might be his last couple of games for months, so I'm glad he's giving it a try. But don't expect his usual production, others will have to step up, especially KP.
