Reading that Luka quote has me beaming.

I'm gushing. Loyalty like that is such a rare commodity nowadays. Not only does he want to continue and value what Dirk built, but he wants to continue it and build it up.
Obviously things can change, and its easy to say it rather than actually do it. But the fact that Luka is so matter of fact about staying here hit such a chord with me. 

Also did anyone see Kristaps interview? (https://livestream.com/accounts/3821458/.../197138793 starts at around 14:00 minutes, Lukas interview is also the first one if you want to watch that). The dude was BEAMING. He is so happy here. He looks like a monster. I'm so excited for this season.

Quick edit since its included in CD's post, I do not like THJ's mindset. He isn't the caliber player Finley was. He has never been even close to that in his career. At the early beginnings of Dirty Flithy Nashty, Dirk and Nash needed someone like Fin to take the reigns while they grew into their talent.

Luka is more talented at this age than Nash was by quite a large margin, and while I think Dirk was better than KP at this stage in their careers (which isn't a knock on KP), KP still is an established star with his game more or less figured out. We don't need a gunner who can take 18-20 shots a game to pair with those two. THJ needs to be in a 6th man role take at most 12 shots a game, and most importantly trying to be efficient. That mindset plus with his comment that it'll bother him not starting every game (even though he clarified it with understanding sacrifice) makes me think THJ's days are numbered. 

I might be overthinking it, but I hope THJ just plays within the system and takes what Luka and KP gives, and doesn't force the issue.

Luka got to see how much Dirk loved Dallas and how much Dallas loved Dirk back...He wants to be a Legendary player who leads his teams to many playoff runs...he wants to be the next Dirk and it will fuel him to get better everyday...

Also KP mentioning Dallas had a European vibe was very encouraging...we want him and his brother to be happy and trust the franchise...

Thanks for posting the interviews; watched them all.

I'm so pumped for the season. Feels like we have a group of hungry guys that are ready to go. I also get a vibe from KP like he has an edge to him and may play with a level of force and nastiness that will be nice addition here. I expect a big season from him.

THJ thinking that he will fit into the Finley role makes me want to trade him ASAP. Him not playing at all is the best solution but knowing the Mavs they will probably give him minutes just because of his contract.

I don’t know. To me he sounds encouraging cause he said he was gonna have to figure out how to fit in with the big 2. He also said he won’t get the amount of shots he was getting in NY so he has to make them count. IMO, if he can do that, he will improve his numbers cause he won’t get really any focus here. I don’t know about his previous ability to play off the ball, but that’s the game I see for him. Being the sneaky cutter, running to the basket off of screens, shooting wide open j’s. He has the mentality to actually be the third best player on the team. I know this is all huge optimism, but if he does what he says and is effective at it, he could be a huge game changer for this team.

Here’s to him getting close to living up to his contract!
