Luka has moved around gingerly in the past few games too. I know Luka is the ultimate competitor but playing hurt is just stupid.

With how they have also handled KP's b2b's this season, I am highly disappointed in the Mavs' training staff this season.

I couldn't agree more.

I don't think Luka ever fully recovered the first time.

I hope its nothing serious.

He stepped up MAJOR the first time Luka went out. He put up 22.5ppg, 13.8rpg, 2.8bpg on 44.5/36.7/78.9 during the 4 game stretch Luka was out.

He led the team to beating the 18 win streak Bucks. How quickly people forget what Kristaps can do...

Plenty of time to get him healed without need to rush him back before the ASB...

Man this stinks, hope he gets better soon. This is kind of the opposite of Dirk. Dirk had bionic ankles. He'd roll them in really ugly ways and be back the next quarter. Dirk and Curry both need to share their secrets with Luka. He also looked like he needed a break these last few games, so let's hope this helps.

Oh thank goodness. Manageable is good. Hopefully he's not out anything more than 2 weeks.

Not hist first allstar game. He should just pull a Dirk and play his 10 min a game. Meet people and enjoy the weekend.

Skip the rising star game tho. Maybe even the 3 pt shooting contest as well.

NBA all-star game is 2-16, right around this 2 week window. I imagine he will not play at all or basically suit up and go through the motions for 5 minutes so that he doesn't have to cancel. That would look like 8 games, with him coming back from ASG 2/21 to play that first game after the break. The good news is that the ASG break would give him extra rest assuming he doesn't run out there and play 20 min during the ASG. 8 games is a pretty good chunk of games but it could be worse.

The good teams out of that list are Rox, Pacers, Jazz + Grizz who are 500 and scrappy. Other 4 teams are below 500 so this seems doable.

It's his first all star game. He isn't going to sit. He should be fine by the 16th if all goes well.

Well great. As long as he can play in a game that doesn't matter, let's make sure he rests in the ones that do.

Because after all, All-Star stats > winning actual games.

That's because the all star game is 'practice' and there's almost zero risk of injury when compared to a regular season game. Not to say there isn't but it's legitimately and substantially lower. Odds are he plays mon or wed before the break (probably wed) and slowly works himself back into better shape by 2/20. So no reason he can't play a few minutes worth of exhibition for his sake...

I think it's important to Luka. The kid isn't even 21 and got screwed out of the all-star game last year. Let him have his moment.
