Game 19 Dirkie Thread: Spencer Dinwiddie!
#1
The entire starting lineup played pretty well tonight. I like the pace. Ball movement was good. I hope they can keep doing this when Luka comes back.

Marshall was high on points, Kyrie right behind him (but Kyrie does so much besides score). Grimes and Dinwiddie tied on points.

So...I sort of slighted Dinwiddie on the last poll, so I'm giving my Dirkie to him. If Dinnwiddie hadn't had his recent resurrection I'd be giving it to P.J. Washington.

Mark Followill gets my vote tonight. Nice work on the national stage. He’s the best local I hear on league pass, by far.

Took the words right out of my mouth. One of the hardest games I can remember to choose a Dirkie. Kai did what he always does, but Din, PJ, Grimes, and Naji all deserve it, and I'm giving it to Spencer.

Went PJ. 2 points less than Din, 7 asst, 10 rebounds and KAT did not like him anywhere near him on defense (help or primary)...

Tough choice but I give it to Din. How the Knicks were scoring at will in the second half it may have gotten way too close for comfort if Dinwiddie missed a few of those shots. I am not sure if several were great looks too. He just made them.

I voted Grimes for his amazing defensive impact and some big shots, but you can’t go wrong in this one. Kyrie, PJ, Marshall, Dinwiddie and even Kleber have good claims to this one, imo

Kleber had 1rbd, and 1pt. I left him off the poll because I didn't think anybody would recognize his defense and off-ball work. What Kleber does is very important. Stats are sometimes an inadequate measure of play and value to the team. Kleber--and Powell--and most other 2nd or 3rd string players don't usually deserve all the crap dumped on them.

Kleber’s D just swallowed up KAT a few times on that end of the court. Was beautiful. KAT has to absolutely HATE seeing the Mavs these days.

Not sure I’m qualified to vote today. I couldn’t watch live and then fell asleep during the 4th quarter when I did get to it. But that isn’t gonna stop me here or on the first Tuesday of November.

From reviewing the stats before watching, it looked like PJ should run away with it. That was a Matrix-style stuffing of the stat board: 19/10/7/1/2. But watching the game, damn, Dinwiddie with the Dirkwiddie imho.
Pessimism doesn’t make you smart, just pessimistic.
