Game 18: Dallas Mavericks (9-8) vs. Atlanta Hawks (7-10)

The Mavs are so lucky to have Kyrie Irving. Unbelievable.

He has been the biggest disappointment for me so far this season. But I sure did like Gortman‘s minutes earlier.

And right on cue, Hardy scores one of the biggest buckets of the night.

If you say so, my dude. Seemed pretty clear who the best player on the floor was in the fourth quarter to me.

But, I don’t irrationally hate people for no reason. I’m a happy person,so we might not speak the same language.

Nice win after a tough loss last night. Shorthanded and then Lively got sick.

Mavs got hot when needed. Not much defense tonight by either team but our bigs made some key big plays while we were scoring at will. That was the difference.

Trae felt like a bit player out there. They sort of get a pass on the Luka thing. Poor kings get the brunt of it but that was a franchise altering mistake.

If the Mavs had lost, there would be lots of guys at whom we might point fingers. Bad shooting. Weak defense. Stupid turnovers leading to easy layups.

But they won, so all is forgiven!

Think it's illness based on what I'm reading

He came down with the illness that is going through the team and prevented some people from playing. Literally, the whole team is sick.

This was an incredible, gutty performance. Not that you would know from the game thread, lol.

Btw that is a game the hawks need to win. First game back home after a 4 game road trip against a tired and shorthanded Mavs team. They made it too easy for the Mavs.

One negative after a great win, boy does Omax feel a long way away.

Luka needs to understand that these Mavs can score if you give them the ball. He needs to do less of those plays wherein he dribbles until 3/4s of the shot clock has expired just to go for a step back 3 or a contested turn around fade away from the elbow. If Luka shows less interest in a scoring title and gives up control of the ball considerably, the Mavs would be better. The Mavs players are just too good to stay in their spots the way DJJ and THJ operated before. Even PJ is making a case for himself he can create on his own consistently.

4 out of 5 games with double digit rebounding from Pj. Looks like he was guarding Trae at times in the fourth. Nice stretch by him.

Young is a terrible player. That is going to go down as one of the worst trades in history
