Why in the world is Dinwiddie still in?

Well that ending on the last two din misses was fitting. Kidd is stubborn at times

Oh, for sure, I don’t think the strategy worked out, to be clear. Just trying to imagine what Kidd was thinking.

What I don’t know is why he didn’t just let Marshall play point guard down the stretch. If I rewatch, maybe there were stretches when that didn’t work well in this game.

Why can't Dinwiddie just square up and take a good 3. Everything looks off balance and just poor percentage shots.

A competent bench scoring guard probably raises the floor of this team a lot. Too many nights neither Hardy nor Dinwiddie were able to impact the game positively at all. Hardy was a trainwreck once again tonight and while Din had some good passes and drives he could not buy a bucket.

I don’t have a name right now but that spot is clearly standing out Imo as the first one to address. Shouldn’t be impossible though.

Why was Dinwiddie allowed to shoot so much? If the shots not falling, give it to someone else. They couldn't stop Jimmy Buckets either.

Grimes and Klay aren't PGs but at this point they are better passers than Din.
Din is shot clock waster where plays evolve into hero-ball. Grimes and Klay would have moved the ball.

If Kidd needed a better ball handler than those two -- Naji was there too.
I wouldn't have been opposed to Naji carrying the brunt of the offense the way he has played in the second half.

But NO... Kidd needs to do Kidd things.

Dins calling was always being able to create off the dribble and get to the free throw line.  From what I have seen so far he lacks explosion now.  So he pretty much only has off the dribble threes. He definitely deserved minutes over Hardy today.  Just too many minutes and asking him do stuff that is above his pay grade imo.  Even the last shot of regulation.  Why is Dinwiddie taking that?

They have him.
His name is Naji Marshall.
At this point the Mavs need to trusts him with 14 a game.
Make Naji the focal point of the second unit rather than relying on Hardy and Din for scoring.

I can't wait for Exum to get back. SD's playmaking is horrifying.

I understand why Widdie was in the game, I just would have played him less and Klay more. Klay made some good plays tonight and was hitting a few shots. Kidd has never been good at managing a rotation, and tonight was another example, plus he probably is creating some discord benching Klay in a game where he’s playing well with Luka out. It wasn’t worth it.

This is the key to everyone's post-game whinging.

No time out left, and SD only knows what he does best. His late game decision making is just "I'm going to hoist this anyway".

Kyrie had a great late stretch in regulation but a big missed free throw, a bad turnover in overtime and not being able to convert later really hurt.

I don’t know if this is accurate but I saw something saying Dinwiidie was on the court the last 22 minutes of the game

Didn’t realize Widdie was 1 for 12 and 0 for 9 from three. He was worse than I thought. Shouldn’t have been in the game at crunch time over Klay for sure.

They need to Blanket Party Kidd for such idiocy.

Can't access YouTube videos, but I'll bet you anything they're videos of Din making game-winning plays. In years that weren't this one. The man is cooked.

Marshall looks like he’s part of the answer but I view it as an additional influx of talent being necessary. There are still some shots to go around even if Marshall is featured heavily Imo.
