If all they want is JB, but want more value for RoCo (understandably so), also looking at the Teague deal as a money saving deal, that first trade you proposed I think is the right framework.(01-16-2020, 01:03 PM)Jym Wrote: A Brunson swap for a wing like Covington just makes too much senseThe best way to create value for Minny I can come up with is:
For us at least
Dieng for Lee + Brunson + GS 2nd
Roco absorbed into the trade exception
Unfortunately we really don't have much else to offer.
Another avenue could be sending someone like Wright/Curry/Kleber in another deal to create value but I doubt we'd go that far.
SG: Doncic
SF: Covington
PF: Porzingis
is REALLY intrigueing though. There's no denying that.
I still think they'd want more value out of RoCo though. That's mostly why I've been including JJ in my proposals. JJ gives them a wing numbers swap so they can keep the most important role in the NBA stocked.
In the deal, it would probably be TE and GSW 2nd for RoCo (maybe add the max in money that can be traded as value too? Haven't seen that angle is a while.). Then in the first part of the trade I would add a lesser valued low end guy on Min's roster like Naz Reid just so the # of players isn't so lopsided when we trade Lee, JB and JJ for Dieng and Reid.

I find it odd that they would be ok with "bad money" if they aren't getting rid of Wiggins who is also "bad money".
