Bringing in KAT would allow us to go forward much easier with this new version of the NBA that everyone keeps talking about. I don't think he's a slouch on defense, but I do think KP is much better on D than KAT is. KP's O can be much greater than it is too (I can see him as an average efficient 23 ppg player), which makes him a sell low player right now compared to KAT. However, KAT's value diminishes if he's demanding out which evens it all out IMO. I do wonder about work ethic after Butler called him and Wiggins out.
It all has to be weighed (including the injury risk that I previously mentioned) and I don't have a problem with not trading. I just think it's easier to build around KAT than it is KP due to the ability to not be pushed around on O and D.
