Now this is incredibly interesting. It makes sense.

KP is playing like a wing right now, and the Mavs are essentially running 4 out with 1 of Powell or Kleber as a rim roller with KP in the game. Thats why we never see Powell+Boban on the court together at any moment. 

Steven Adams is in my opinion one of the best centers in the league and would fit in like a glove here. He is without a doubt one of the best screen setters in the league, which as we saw when Boban comes in is a massive help to free Luka to drive. It would push Powell to the bench, and bring back the classic Maxi/Powell bench duo that was quite effective last year. Another underrated skill of Adams is his ability to box out. Thats what gave Westbrook his triple doubles every night. Having a guy like Adams to go up against the Jokics/Harrells/Embiids/AD's etc. would be invaluable. Plus, Adams is a bonafide tough guy. He takes no crap, and isn't afraid to knock people around. He's exactly what we need.

In this trade the Mavs send out Brunson, DFS, Jackson, and Lee, and get back RoCo and Adams.

Minny gets CP3, DFS and Jackson to replace RoCo. Thunder get Teague, Dieng, Lee, and Brunson, along with draft compensation. Each team walks away with a clear upgrade/something they want. Minnesota gets off of Teague, and gets a clear PG upgrade with CP3. They replace RoCo, who's been underperforming with 2 SF's, one that can defend, and another that can shoot. They also get off of Diengs money.

Thunder get WAYYY below the tax line and off of Cp3's money. Along with a good prospect in Brunson. Mavs get to consolidate their talent, and get 2 clear cut starters. Starting lineup looks like Luka/THJ/RoCo/KP/Adams. Bench rotation is Wright/Curry/---/Maxi/Powell with JJ and Boban playing spot minutes.

Quick authors note: After writing all this up and about to hit post, I realized that the Mavs actually get thinner at SF if they do this trade. A quick modification of adding Roby and Broekhoff instead of Jackson remedies that. Where Roby goes to OKC, and Bro goes to Minny. The main pillars of the trade remains intact, where MIN gets their PG upgrade and off of Dieng's contract, OKC gets off of CP3, under the tax line, and young prospects/draft capital, Dallas gets 2 starters, so I doubt it'd hypothetically change much. It's a complicated trade, but I can see it happening.
