Porter JR defends wings and forwards. Mostly on the perimeter. Basically in an onball only role because his team defense is beyond bad (when the Nuggets defense collapsed or gave up an open look more often than not he messed up a rotation or switch).
Wood has been at his best when he is allowed to stay close to the rim. Has been really bad when teams asked him to step out on the perimeter. I guess bad team defense is a similarity but I don´t think you can hide Wood on one of the opposing wings/forwards. Not to mention that this should be Luka´s role on defense. If you have Luka and a center on the floor the other guys need be able to move their feet on defense.
But as others stated. I don´t think it is even worth the discussion. Wood is gone.
