Sure, that’s a great point. But, getting KP out of the way obviously helped Brunson quite a bit. It was obvious that the entire mindset of the team changed for the positive the second that deal went down.
I’m really struggling with this idea that last year’s wizards season is any type of proof that Porziņģis is underrated around here. If he was half the player everyone thinks he should be, they would have been an actual good team.
Further, he’s about to opt out and take what will be his last four year deal, so it seems pretty clear that his main motivation was to put up meaningless counting stats in order to best position himself for that payday.
Honestly, the place where this train started to go off of the rails was the original Porzingis deal with New York. I wish the team could hit a button and go back to that point in time. Do things better.
