I was looking for a higher tier player using a future first, but to get all three seems like too much. Gafford is a guy if you catch on the right night is fabulous. I wouldn't count him more than a good backup and one who is overpaid. But he could find a role here. Morris is a stop gap, but could also provide 20-25 minutes, I think. He would not be the reason for the trade but a solid win now move. Avdija is the prize to me. He is a gamble as he not been very good in the NBA. But he is big, young and can defend. He would be a good gamble to take.
All this and you still have pick #10. Not bad.
Lakers got Russel (better value than Morris at the time of the trade), Beasley (I would say same value as Gafford) and Haliburton (good player on a rookie deal, cost controlled for another year) for lightly protected pick. I wouldn't think that is far from the Washington proposal I did. Depends of course, how they see Avdija. If they see a star in the making, than they are not trading him anyway. If they are willing to move on (drafted by previous regime), than it could be perhaps done. While Avdija has potential, it is still just theoretic, as his shot didn't improve after three years in the league.
