Kyrie on hearing how LeBron wanted him to be a Laker: "I'm grateful for the opportunity, but I think you heard in his interview. As much as the what-ifs I would love to focus on and cherish and what could have been or what should be, I have to shift my focus to what we have going on here."

Big balls by Kidd.
Further good to hear that Kyrie also said he's ready to support and fill in in his previous answer as well.
Better than Cuban's line from yesterday where he called Luka the best ball handler in the world and Kyrie the second best. No Mark, that's not true. No one has handles like Kyrie.

Don't worry. Every time the Nets win, and the Mavericks lose, you can re-live the horrible mistakes of the past, and what could have been.

I like that from Draymond. Man knows basketball. He obviously sees the Mavs as a threat now and he's always been really high on Luka.

I don't hear any controversy in this but I think the punctuation is incorrect. The quote should read "I'm grateful for the opportunity, but I think you heard in his interview: ' As much as the what-ifs I would love to focus on and cherish and what could have been or what should be, I have to shift my focus to what we have going on here.'"
Kyrie can be somewhat confusing to interpret but I think he's pretty clearly paraphrasing Lebron. He's trying to communicate "I'm grateful for the opportunity. Regarding Lebron, you heard what he said." -- he's not throwing shade on Dallas.

JaVale McGee looks so happy and refreshed in practice with Kyrie. Maybe he knows he is safe and Kyrie will bring out the best in him now!

10000000% agree.
The media is trying to create controversy here because well... its Kyrie and it's easy. He didn't word it properly but they're manufacturing a story for the 14 year olds to eat up and give them clicks on twitter.

Seems like most of the meltdowners have now left this thread. No doubt they are planning their next meltdown the next time Kyrie has a bad game and Dallas loses.

I agree and I don't. Kyrie is in the argument for the best pure handles of all time. That being said, on any given possession given the choice I would rather Luka be the ball handler. Not because he has better pure handles, even though IMO he might legit also be in the convo for best ball handler ever for someone 6'7 or above, but because he can do a lot more than Kyrie can as the primary ball handler. Depends how you want to distinguish between handles, and ball handler. To me handles is just an aspect of overall ball handling, like 3 point shooting is an aspect of scoring.

agree, Kyrie may have better ball-handling skills but Luka is the better handler of the ball.

I'm not knocking Luka but he's not in the conversation for best handles in the league. He is tremendous and his size and vision give him traits that don't come along very often (LeBron, Magic).
