IT'S HARDY TIME: Jaden Hardy looking like a decent prospect
Hardy leads the Mavs rotation in 3pt FG%.

Maybe Harrison should have been the head scout and they should have hired a real GM with experience.

Hardy got 4 votes for second team all rookie. Not bad for a guy who was thought of as an afterthought for most of the year.

Sam Vecenie had a re-draft article today and had Hardy at #17.

I think its possible he'd go even higher than that based on potential.  I'm hoping we look back in 5 years and say he'd be top 5 or top 10 in a re-draft.

He could stay with the Mavs and start next to Luka for the next 5 years or be a super 6th man.  If he gets traded to another team i can see him putting up huge scoring numbers.

Either scenario i think it'll be interesting to see if he can get in that top 10 of this draft. Will he have a better career than Sharpe? Mathurin? Murray? Duren?

I think he is that guy on offense. I hope with the tools he already has (long arms and quickness) he can discover some good defense as well.

Just hope that they won´t throw him into a trade for a guy in his late 20s/early 30s. Have a really bad feeling about the summer when it comes Hardy and Green.

It's because the Mavs front office is such a train wreck when it comes to talent evaluation.

For me, it really depends on who the incoming players are. We need so many holes filled on this team. In my roster talk post, I talked about how Green, THJ, Hardy and Kyrie (when playing with Luka) all are best fit in the SG role. That’s at the very least 2 too many due to the minutes all should probably play. If we had solid options at the other roles, I’d be celebrating that glutton of SGs, but we don’t.

I think Kyrie and Hardy are the keepers from that list, but it all depends on who the other team values the most. Also, I’d hate to end up with THJ being the keeper while both Green and Hardy leave, but THJ seemed to fall in line once Kyrie came.

I’d certainly want a 25 or younger player for each of them that fills the gaping holes we have.

If Hardy doesn't drop 50 in his first game then we might as well just bench him the rest of the summer.

Jaden Hardy on if he wants to prove anything during Summer League.

"Just continue to develop my game. You know, polish my tools, getting stronger, getting faster, and continue to learn the defensive concepts here and continue to better myself and continue to learn and grow."

It’s Jaden Hardy’s 21st birthday.

How’s he plan to celebrate?

“Going to be in the gym, working out.”

Cheers!

Hardy, O Max, Lively, and then Miles, Jelly, Wright, Lawson, Bingham Jr. lots of guys that could contribute and earn a place by showing the MBT they got skills. 14 men on the roster after McGee is gone and I think that Lawson might get bumped up to the roster. Imagine if Bingham comes in and he is showing that he has greatly improved enough to turn the right heads. Would we drop one of the 2 ways and offer it to him, could we do that or would we have to offer it under the table telling him hey one of these guys in getting bumped up to the roster and it might be 2 but if you hang in there there is a spot with a 2 way almost ready for someone and that someone might be you. Do they tell these guys stuff like that? I wonder.

He was terrible in Summer League. But I have some faith that he was just working on some stuff that he won’t really be asked to do during the season that much.

A little props to Jaden. This year has been a little rough and he hasn't met my expectations yet. Right now his good games are mostly determined if he is hitting his shots. He was not great shooting or finishing at the rim this year. Although in the last 10 games he is shooting 44% from 3 and 51% overall. Small sample size. While he is not good at defense, I have noticed him trying really hard. That is progress and he has even made some good defensive plays. He is still can't run an offense but has really improved making passes when attacking. Sometimes he is careless but he has made some really nice reads lately.

Kidd has done well finding him minutes. That may get difficult when everyone is healthy, but you are starting to see signs of growth for the 21 year old. Is it real?
