I guess Tatum is off limits.

I’m just gonna say it. I don’t want KD for any more than a couple firsts and some salary dump. At 34 and not able to play as much during the season with 4 years left on contract? That’s a team killing disaster just waiting to happen when you don’t win a championship next year and he asks out yet AGAIN! Team killing trade right there!

I am not sure I would want to give up twp firsts....he is a big risk IMO.

I struggled with the number of firsts, but if we’re salary dumping with Bertans and other non/less contributors it would be fun to go for a championship for 1 year until he demands out.

I also struggled to say “at any cost”, but the 1 season of being able to see the possibility of a championship would be worth it, IMO.

I'd give the Nets all of our picks, assets and all of Mark's children for one of the greatest players to ever live.

From Stein:

Quote:The Nets get back together in six weeks for Media Day (Sept. 26) and their first practices of the new season (Sept. 27). If Durant hasn't been traded by then, there is a growing expectation in league circles that he will continue trying to cause as much of a ruckus behind the scenes to try to prod the Nets into lowering their asking price at last to facilitate a deal. If it wasn't apparent by now, he really wants that trade to Phoenix or Miami or maybe even Boston or Philadelphia, no matter what it does to his reputation when he hasn't played a single game yet under the four-year, $194 million contract extension signed in August 2021.

I really hope the Nets play hardball and keep him in Brooklyn.  It just really rubs me the wrong way what he is trying to do.  I am typically pro player, but I have no sympathy for KD here.    Add to the fact that he has a preferred list of teams and even with those teams wants certain guys not included in the trade talks.

KD is obviously an all time great.  But for me, how he handles this situation in Brooklyn and if he can be a contender there will at least be a consideration for me on how great his rated for me.

If I am Brooklyn, I have no interest in the Suns or Miami trade.    Boston might have some appeal, but I am less inclined to settle for that trade either.    I would play hardball.  If the worst thing happens and he holds out, the Nets have a pick swap this year with Houston, so it may be fine if they are a lottery team.  If KD wants to tarnish his legacy and not get paid, so be it.  I know things like this typically don't play out that way, but I would be in favor of playing hard ball.

Guess that means the Nets are about to trade for Pau Gasol.
