MAVS NEWS: Luka Is Hurt, But is Trudging On | DLive's Mom Passes Away| Maxi OUT
https://twitter.com/iztok_franko/status/...3558504889

Not surprising, but still shocking to see. In the article on the Athletic with the rookie rankings, Lively was at 4. In the article though it mentioned how he has a chance to be a top 10 defender in the league. He is not there yet and it will take time and some good fortune, but that will do wonders. Maybe Omax and Green can show to be plus defenders. But we clearly need at least 1-2 more plus defenders. They need to be dogs too and who can play in those high pressure playoff games.

I am not counting on Maxi. He will fill a role here if he is healthy. The role could be valuable. But at his age and injury history, I am using him as a trade piece to get a younger, better Maxi. That is a big ask, but I just don't feel he is someone you can count on moving forward. would not give him away though.

DJJ- Nice fit, but I am not sure if he is going to be back. Ideally he would be a bench wing in the perfect scenario. Better guarding quickness than bulk.

Green- Not there yet and a little disappointing to be saying this in year 4. But he has the traits to be a good defensive player.

OMAX- has the traits and length to be an impactful defender. Just not ready yet. He needs to take advantage of the limited opportunities given to him.

Grant Williams posting his 1 layup this game after this loss shows to me how mentally challenged he is.

Like the tweet says, NO SHAME.

Look at this meekly response. Kidd has no fight. There is no passion. GET HIM OUT

Landon Thomas (@sixfivelando)
Luka Dončić and Tim MacMahon go back and forth about him tweeting about Luka asking for a fan to be ejected in the second half, after cursing at him the whole game.

Luka: “You’ll be the first one to always put something bad about me.”

Luka getting pissy at Tim cause Luka had a heckler ejected.

Jason Kidd talking postgame about how his players on minimum contracts have had to play at a high level and they've played a lot of minutes during the first half of the season and they are tired, its showing right now and roster construction is getting exposed...#MFFL

More excuses from Kidd. Now its the roster construction why the team is underperforming and there is no consistency quarter by quarter. Not the schemes, the mental composition, and just general leadership of the team. NO NO! Its cause we played our guys too much!

One small underrated factor is that Mavs no homecourt advantage. Horrible home team. Bad crowds? Refs tend to favour home team, except when going against Cuban? Something is clearly not working.

I didn't know Luka had issues with MacMahon.

I think it is not the first time Luka was not happy with him. To be fair, MacMahon seems like a guy that enjoys kicking the guy, when he is already down. Meaning, he seems to enjoy being critical or pointing out bad stuff

But Luka didn't handle this one well. No gain from attacking a reporter.

The next day after having a minor meltdown is always the worst.

PLEASE CAN I GET SOME POSITIVITY OUT OF THE MAVS!?

In reflection I went too hard at Luka. Do not get me wrong, it is exhausting watching this dude complain incessantly as if that will solve anything. But its not the core problem. He still has to grow up.

I entered this season thinking this team is going nowhere with Kidd as the coach. I still believe that and every day he's here is proof that the FO doesn't care about winning. As to team roster construction, there are obvious holes, but the lack of availability from everyone is exacerbating it. Get healthy and build some momentum. We've seen what they are capable of over a 15 game stretch.

Overall, sorry Luka. I got frustrated. I'm sure you can empathize with me there. Not sorry Kidd and please don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I think Kidd's nutso job security has to do with relationships - Cuban, Dirk (who recommended him), Nico, and Kyrie are all tight with him. It will be a bloody divorce when the time comes, and unfortunately, the sooner, the bloodier. We could be waiting quite a while as fans to see him pack his bags outta here.

I think he was hired because he proved willing to work incredibly cheap.

Well, if you're right (and you might be, it makes some sense), then Cuban getting someone who's actually wealthy vested in the team's success might be a rather sizable step in the right direction.

Yes. Time to money whip best available (or unavailable) coach. Put that new owner money to work. That alone could make a big difference on the court

Who is even available? Udoka or Nurse (as KL has mentioned) would’ve been nice. I’m still a believer in Kenny Atkinson. Not sure anyone else shares my enthusiasm. Also, Jay Wright.

Any other names pop? What we really need is the next Daignault or Hardy or Taylor Jenkins.

Lets take Bud and hope Milwaukee history repeats itself Smile More or less joking, Bud looked like a mess last couple of seasons in Milwaukee. Money whipping Hardy or Taylor Jenkins would be nice. Or Lue. I also like Atkinson idea.

Luka joined inside the NBA last night. Shaq is a huge human being. Surprised how "small" Barkley looks next to Luka

Barkley is only 6'4. Luka is much taller standing next to him. Shaq made Luka look small Lol.

Options to watch NBA in Slovenia were extremely limited in those days, so I never realized he is "so small". Other than perhaps finals, there were not many games available at that time for us. And since games were in the middle of the night, the only realistic option to watch was tape it on VCR and then watch it later. I was also following EU basketball more than NBA at that time.
