Probably not long enough for the NBA though...

I was hoping Wembayana wasn't all knees and elbows... but he pretty much is that.

He's gifted offensively and defensively, but I think his height feels like a knee injury waiting to happen. Like a lot of those stick leg centers, I am constantly asking myself how many games can he play year-in and year-out. I cringe a lot with those guys ... from Greg Odom to Porzingas.

If he can manage to play the games without injury, he's a game changer. But I have little faith that he can.

Looking back to his college team and draft class, I would imagine the odds are pretty small that one college team had three players in one draft play as long as Brewer, Horford and Noah played.    I guess that is why they won two championships.  Probably a forgotten team in a lot of the great team rankings.

Brewer also had a random 51 point explosion in one game which is considered one of the most random eruptions in NBA history. I even remember watching him in the NCAA title game which makes me feel old now

Why are teams having to trade picks to get rid of Usman Garuba?  I can't say I've watched a lot of him but the counting stats are pretty good.  He has a positive defensive RAPTOR.  Only 21 years old.  Oklahoma City has about 20 players now.  If Garuba is cut, I think he'd be worth a roster spot on the Mavs.

I'm with you. If anyone can take care of him it's the Spurs. But, I just feel like he's one of those "I can't believe the potential" that never materializes due to not being able to take the beating. Especially in the paint. It's nothing like it was in the 80s and 90s but even now those rail thin guys hardly ever can stay healthy. Durant has been one of the rare examples of that. Then again, KD is under 7 foot (6'10" I believe). At 7'5" I don't think Wemby will stay healthy.
We didn't make the cut but thanks for all the support!

When I see guys like Chet Holmgren, Wemby, and even Porzingas, there's something about their center of gravity and rail thin legs that just makes me think they will break like a matchstick at any given moment.

I never felt that way with KD, or Dirk, or Olajuwon, or some other tall players. Something about their core strength in the hip area makes me think guys like Dirk had more natural movement. I thought about that watching Lively today. He crouches a little like a normal athlete. Holmgren always looks like he needs a third leg for stability. I just don't trust guys like that to stay healthy.

At one time he looked like a can’t miss even after his first knee injury. Injuries robbed him of that chance. Still, I would still be attending the workout just to see.

I hope this is actually enforced.  This has been needed for a long time.

https://sports.yahoo.com/nba-approves-ru...57997.html

Quote:The NBA Board of Governors approved a rule change that will make flopping a technical foul for the 2023-24 season, the league announced Tuesday, the result of increasing frustrations from fans and teams toward players who go out of their way to sell contact.

The change will come on a one-year trial basis.

Specifically, when a game official calls a flop, defined by the NBA as "a physical act that reasonably appears to be intended to cause the officials to call a foul on another player," the offending player will be charged with a non-unsportsmanlike technical foul and give the other team one free-throw attempt.

Because of the nature of the technical foul, a player will not be ejected from a game due to flopping violations. Refs will also not have to interrupt play to call a flop, as they can wait until the next stoppage to hit a player with the penalty.

The NBA specifically notes it's possible for the officials to call both a foul and a flop on the same play.

Does the technical count toward the season total for each player? What is it, 1 game suspension after the 15th tech?
