Bridges was able to plea this down to probation and community service, and try to skate on NBA discipline? I can't figure out how a perp like this is let loose to run free in society. It's not like the victim recanted or shows evidence it's not a thing. It seems he just skated. ("she holds a 10-year protective order that requires he stays 100 yards away and have no contact with her.)

----

A day after [Bridges] was arrested, his wife, Mychelle Johnson, shared online what she alleged Bridges did to her while recalling the events in graphic detail.

Johnson wrote that she suffered a fractured nose, a fractured wrist, a torn eardrum, torn muscles in her neck and a "severe concussion" and was choked until she "went to sleep." The now-deleted post included photos of Johnson's face, hands, neck, back, arms and legs, as well as a medical report that said she was an “adult victim of physical abuse by a male partner."

Johnson also posted a video in which Johnson's son asks "Did Daddy choke Mommy?" on a video call with an unnamed woman.

Bridges reportedly maintains shared custody of his two children with Johnson, but she holds a 10-year protective order that requires he stays 100 yards away and have no contact with her.

Well Jalen missed two free throws late that led to a game winning shot by the Bulls.

Must have thought he was still a maverick trying to ice a game away.

If his name was Miles Overpasses and worked a regular job he'd be facing 5+ years in prison. It's gross. He deserves a lot more. He lost a lot of potential money, yet he's still going to get paid multiple millions of dollars.

Insane he's still allowed in the NBA.

That's sports for you.  Cowboys signed Greg Hardy because he could rush the passer.  The only silver lining is that kids should be set for life financially.

I haven't watched their games, but the Nets are on a heater now.  They are really clicking.   Do they have a chance to be the best in the East?  Last year teams were all afraid to play the Nets in the playoffs.   That team wasn't right last year though.  This year could be a different story.

If history is any kind of indicator for the future, Irving will do something colossally stupid between now and the playoffs that makes everything awkward draws the focus completely away from basketball. Honestly, this cycle of the team completely breaking and then re-focusing to look this good might happen multiple times between now and the playoffs. In the end, I'm betting that chaotic organization won't be ready when it counts.

Outside of this very likely possibility, maybe Steve Nash is also a really shitty rookie basketball coach. Nobody has any evidence to the contrary.

Oh, I think he probably is, for sure. I don't think it's any one thing that went wrong there, I just think they let their franchise get taken over by a little too much crazy.

Merry Christmas.  Fun first half of Knicks and Sixers while doing other things around the house.

I wish our offense was more like the Knicks.   Handoffs, swinging the ball side to side.  I hope we prioritize those type of players rather than guys who are good at 2-3 different things.   Every game I watch other teams, I wonder if you just add 2 or so guys that this Mavs team is better.   Even with the Knicks, if you added Grimes (late first) and Sims (late second) and removed Bullock and McGee, this team is better.

I guess Harden dropped a bomb that he may be interested in signing with the Rockets after this year.   I think he is just trying to create pressure to get a huge max offer, but this will be fun.  Luckily for him, they are playing in NYC today and not Philly.
