Kidd on withdrawing his name from consideration, last summer, for the Blazers’ coaching vacancy: “Yeah, dodged a bullet there. Worse than staying with the Lakers even.”

Spurs are guaranteed the the play-in. Whether they have anything at all to play for depends on tomorrow night. If New Orleans loses to Memphis, and San Antonio beats Golden State then San Antonio will still have a chance at getting homecourt for their play-in game (they'll need New Orleans to also lose their game against Golden State that same night but that games starts at the same time as ours).
And of course if either New Orleans or San Antonio beats Golden State, then the Mavs can get back to 3rd by beating San Antonio.

It more or less comes down to the Spurs/Warriors game tomorrow. If the Spurs lose neither NO or SAS has anything to play for and thus it's fairly likely NO rests their stars for the final game against GS.
Of course GS is planning to rest guys too, so we'll see how that affects things. And obviously Luka is now going to get some unplanned rest for the final game.

Reporter: Why did Luka Doncic get a technical foul after the 1st quarter?
Brothers: At the end of the quarter, he took a shot and he felt he got fouled. He started to complain to each of the officials. When I was walking toward the table, he was fifteen feet in the backcourt still complaining so he got a technical for continuously complaining.
Reporter: Was there any profanity?
Brothers: There was not.

In all seriousness, is Tony Brothers ok? Is this his 1st game being an NBA referee? You call a technical foul on someone complaining and not saying any profanity? And you call it on a superstar? Oh by the way, Luka was fouled. Hopefully, the NBA will rescind this technical. More importantly, hopefully Brothers is not refereeing any playoff games. By all accounts, he may be the worst official in the NBA. Surely, there's a grading system from the league office for incompetency.

I don’t believe for a second this was incompetence. If it were a provable thing, I’d wager a Benji that Brothers decided before the game that he was gonna get him a Luka suspension tonight.
