Is it just me or does Burke seem to get hurt or sick every time he gets significant minutes?

Important win tonight to keep pace with UTA and put MIN in their place.

I really want to finish at least 20 games over .500, meaning we need to go at least 6-3 to end the season. Gotta get it rolling right tonight, must win game.

Getting torched on threes for the 3rd straight road game now. Teams just aren't scared of our defense anymore. Not surprising tonight though, Minnesota wasn't going to lose 3 straight.

Blowouts are not bad at this point of the season though, another good chance to rest the starters

Are there any centers available that are useful that Mavs can use right now?

Man, I don't know who the Mavs' shooting coach is, but I don't think they should bring him back next year. Games like this happen way too often for how many open shots they get.

I see why nobody's here. They're getting smoked.

Bullock had one great game on Monday and now he's back to his slump. If we get him and Kleber shooting bricks in the playoffs, we're getting swept

I gave Dallas almost no chance tonight, so I’m only surprised at how badly they were beaten. The Mavs will hold the TWolves off this year, but Minny has the better roster going forward, sort of like it was obvious two years ago that Phoenix and Memphis would surpass the Mavs. The TWolves have two stars and a long and athletic team. Ultimately, that’s what wins titles. They’ve got a bright future.

Big Grin Big Grin

I really can´t care about the regular season anymore either way. Just get me to the play-offs and we learn the truth about this team.

I think there is still an overall  talent issue. We might see the weardown effects of Luka smallball at the moment or they are just managing energy before the play-offs.

We´ll find out soon enough.

When Luka accounts for HALF of your made 3's then the team has a problem. This team is designed to be a bunch of attackers and shooters around Luka. When that fails we can't win

We shot terrible. We didn’t get the “50-50” plays. Bad luck. Bad officiating. Uncharacteristic turnovers. This was a must win game for the Wolves.

We just couldn’t overcome all this.

Everyone else lost as well. I think we just turn the page and focus on Utah tomorrow. We still have a chance to overtake them for 1 game up on 4th place. We still could be 2 games back from 3rd if things go right tomorrow

Same, absolutely the same, as in beginning of season, this trend over the last games. Luka is in top shape, so the explanation is not that he is fat, as it was not the case early in season. What it is, the reason, is that the team is missing wide open shots. What happens next is that the teams start to protect the paint and it gets harder to attach the rim. And what happens next is that our players start to get even more open, and we tend to be forced with that option with shooting from outside. We become very inefficient and one-dimensional. When we cant shoot open 3s, we lose to any team, it's as simple as that. Need to make those open shots. It has kind of started with Kleber, that is something like 0-1000 from 3 in last games, and then this anti-shot virus has spread to DFS in the last game and to others as well. It's important to finish the season and enter the playoffs with good shooting. Then we are impossible to play against.

It's frustrating, but I can't criticize them for wasting all these free shots. Making 3 pointers is a personal choice that should not be forced upon anyone. #standwithreggie

Anybody is impossible to play against when they're making shots. Look what Charlotte did a few games ago.  The fact is 3pt shooting comes and goes. Especially if your offense relies heavily on them.  It pays to have a post game as well.

I meant specifically the open 3 point shots. They are expected to go in at least at the average rate of 3s when you have the advantage that you are open. What you refer to is maybe contested 3s. I would agree with that - if a team can make contested 3s consistently, they would not need other parts of the game, and that team can beat anyone.

What I meant is that we have the other parts of the game than open 3s. But if we cant hit open 3s as expected, the opponents will trap us with that and take the other areas away.
