KP was totally dominant and broke Portland inside. But give me our new facilitator Josh Green for the Dirkie. The kid was super fun to watch.

Well...the entire starting line-up played pretty good.  Brandon Knight improved dramatically from when he started.  But I'm giving my Dirkie to Josh Green.  I think he has received a lot of undeserved criticism--without the acknowledgement of his future potential.  He plays good and improves when given playing time.  I liked what I saw tonight.  So, Dirkie to JG.

The Magnificient Seven tonight.

Now call Mosley down in Orlando and send him THJ for Gary Harris. 17 PPG, 50/45/90 shooting in his last 10 games.

I have been one of the more fervent supporters of JG on this board. However, even I didn’t see this coming in my wildest dreams. I looked at him as a 2D guy who can be good if not asked to shoot a lot of 3s. This just opens up so many possibilities now if he has vision to go along.

Almost tempted to give it Brunson for toning down calling his own number tonight.

Really only two choices though. KP or Green.

And I didn't think Green would ever have a 10 dime game in his career so it's got to be him

Haha I think when he showed some of this play-making ability earlier in the year, I said there is a better chance he´ll ever have a 10 assist game than a 10 point game. Big Grin

The thing is for the first time ever I feel like he plays with confidence in his shot and finishing ability at the rim. There is less hesitation and no deer in the headlights look on his face. Only if he has that he can keep the defense honest and un-lock his "PG" skills. It´s the same with Ntilikina.

Younger players need consistent minutes that build trust and breed confidence. They cannot go back to just playing this kid spot up minutes.

For me, it's KP, in what may have been his best game as a Mav. But I can definitely see somebody voting for Green or Powell. I hope Kidd is taking note of Green and Ntilikina. Those two make this a much better team defensively, and should each be getting a minimum of 15 mpg going forward.

I voted KP even though I am one of Green's supporters (even as far as draft night when everybody else is screaming for Saddiq). Not saying Green is better now, but there's still time.

JG played a good game, that much is obvious, all those assists were nice. Some better than others. The one to KP may look simple enough when there wasn't anyone at the rim was good, but an awkward angle and it might have been stolen. JG didn't rush it, he knew he had time. The pass to Knight on a break was a bit off by a step but not too out of the way. The one for Chris was a PG's pass. KP's cut to the basket was dazzling. That no look to Moses was too. Only one assist I think shouldn't have been. The kick out for a 3 to DFS. With JG's athletic ability he could have scored 2 that close to the rim. That's forgoing a higher percentage shot.

I think JG's passing is brought about by 4 things:
1. He really is unselfish, and happy to let others take the shot.
2. He has genuine court vision of a PG, he just doesn't have advance handles to be one.
3. His confidence is better, but he does not trust his scoring abilities, to him, the other guy has a better chance of scoring.
4. Due to his quickness (and not being fat like someone we know), he can attack the rim, and defenses panic instantly resulting in open team mates.

Hey JG.. shoot more please, or attack the rim more. Take the shot or not, sure beats watching Bullock and/or THJ chuck one everytime.

..And how about Knight this game? He is more of a PG than Brunson or Burke are, at least for a game it did look like it.

A few more games like this and a few of the guards are going to get traded.

Kidd and coaches have done an INCREDIBLE job instilling confidence in JG and FN when they were really down in that in their previous years.

I am getting way ahead of myself, but if you squint really hard there is a world where future versions of our Mavs that either Frank or Josh are on the floor for most of the game.

I give the Dirkie to KP.   Almost everyone played well tonight though.  But when your viewed best player steps up from the start and sets the tone....he gets it for me.   Although in a laugher of a game, maybe giving it to a player with a better story is fine too.

Green should be a heavy rotation minutes player...if he continues to improve his shots and finishing he is a top 5 player for us ..
Josh Green is a top 5 Mavs player...
