Hate to say it but Powell was awful. Canada lost because their bigmen rotation was completly useless. 7´1 giant Ondrej Balvin took his lunch money.

Slovenia is shooting 47.5% from three.  Will neutralize some of the interior dominance of Sabonis and Valanciunas.  Should be a really good game.

Let´s go Luka. Also while you busy killing them, check out whether we should consider drafting Rokas Jokubaitis as your new NBA back-up PG.

Also to test Tobey´s NBA potential it probably doesn´t get any better than Valanciunas/Sabonis frontcourt. LOL.

Luka must enjoy this respect, compared to the way he´s treated in the NBA. His primary defender and Sabonis already with two fouls each, and Slovenia in the penalty five minutes into the game.

I have to say it takes a special franchise to build a team around Luka that can´t even get out of the first round. The kid is just insane. He´s orchestrating this team like a maestro. Shame his supporting cast isn´t as strong as the chronic underachievers area of Nachbar, Dragic, Lakovic, Lorbek, Becirovic, Brezec....

21/5/6 for Luka as the game is tied at halftime.

Interestingly enough Luka has only take one three point attempt and made 3/4 FTs.

And now Luka is totally kicking ass in the third quarter!

Luka playing post defense vs Sabonis was my favorit part of the game. Looked like KP trying to back down Holiday or Smart. Couldn´t move him at all.

Smile

I think this game is another proof of how little impact traditional centers can make in a serious game. Valanciunas and Sabonis are endlessly better on paper over anything Slovenia has under the rim, but they were not able to capitalize on the offensive end. On defense, Luka was just killing them as we saw against Zubac. Either a drive to the hoop or pass to a wiiiiiiide open teammate. No wonder they were shooting almost 50 % from three up to this game.
