They FIRED him in December, because he was not good enough at his job, RE-HIRED him on a short-term loan contract because they had a lot of illness to the regular staff and he was familiar with the team. Based on his performance over four weeks against your previous evaluation of his talent, not only do you offer him his job back, but you also give him a three year contract and a pay-raise. At best you offer him another entry level contract for a year.
In a "normal" job, you´d get fired for such incoherent decision-making. Oh wait, Donnie did get fired.
