NEWS: Donnie out | Nico Harrison (Nike) as Pres/GM | Fin as VP | Dirk as Advisor

Cuban should money whip him and then get the **** out of the way.

Not to dance on anyone's grave, but at least Cuban has figured out ahead of time the pecking order of this team which starts and ends with Luka.  Being a contender is now and Donnie and Delon's best friend Bobby V weren't getting the job done.

I could go back into being really down on this team depending on the new hire, but we are Ujiri hiring and finding KP a new home from this being a smashing success of an offseason.

I don't think Carlisle is on the hot seat yet, but the clock is ticking for him too.  We've seen plenty of tension between he and Luka.

I can't imagine Ujiri would come to Dallas if he decided not to move to DC last year, given his interests and his wife's background. Plus, Cuban.

This is valid. THAT was a major sign of what we are seeing now. Confusedmdh Mavs
Thank you Donnie.

Does that imply you think a highly regarded new GM won't expect to bring in his own Coach?

I don't think it is necessary. Smart move is to watch how things go for at least half a season and then start making big moves. Why would it be impossible for a new GM and respected coach to work together?

My street fighting friend!  How are you?

It's a possibility so I wouldn't rule Carlisle being gone this offseason.  But Cuban's support was pretty strong following the playoff departure.  I guess it depends on the conditions of the new GM and what coaches are out there.

Danny Ainge could be considered also.

Beyond that, unless you have a real special diamond that know one else knows about, this isn’t a time for making and correcting mistakes.

Maybe Denver might be a small market team, but no way Toronto is.  It's the 4th largest city in North America.

Carlisle seems beloved around the league and in basketball circles.    Not only do I think he's not in trouble,  I imagine he would actually be an alluring asset for a high level GM to come to Dallas.   Any national beat writer I know has contacts around the entire league gushes on how well thought of Carlisle is around the league.  Now, whether Carlisle would want to stick around if he didn't have as much say in personnel matters with a new front office structure is another matter.
